Factory Paint Protection Film

Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, TX has a Whiteout 6AT FR-S with Bespoke and the Protection Film. It is their demo car and they don't plan on selling it.

Have a 6MT BRZ on order but couldn't resist coming in for a test drive. In summary it validated my lust for this platform. I didn't play with the Bespoke but I'm considering going back and recording a video walkthrough.

However I noticed a few things that seemed off with the protection film. The car's tag said it came from the factory but it didn't cover the entire front bumper.

Did anyone else get the factory film installed and noticed the same lack of coverage?

My car is huge compared to the FR-S

Haha i'm actually going out to test drive that exact one tomorrow. Would've gone today but plans didn't allow it. Also I called and they said the price for the AT is 27.9k, same price they told you?

I wasn't interested in that particular one, but I didn't see any markup on the tag. Dealer also confirmed they are not marking up the vehicle. 6MT with no options is 26,885 out the door.

I'll be getting it put on my BRZ, but I'm not getting it done through the dealer. I got a much lower quote through a local company and they specialize in it so I think think they'll do a better job.

Unless i'm missing something, that's like 2k for docs. Pretty noob to buying new cars, just wondering since it's 27,000 ish for AT out the door from Sterling McCall.

With the $1000 scion college credit, my total was $25,114. Asphalt m/t only add on was trunk mat.

I wonder if they pre cut the clear bra like that to be able to fit the BRZ as well? Kinda dumb not to cover the entire front bumper.

Scion got me good on this one and I only noticed it the other day. When I pre ordered there was only a "hood and fender" option for 395$... I thought this was a great deal and bought it.

Then yesterday while on the scion site playing with the build your FR-S I noticed a second 3m option for the "front bumper"... 600$ on top of the 400... I got boned.

Gulf States Toyota distributorship installed the 3M on mine. It has film on the upper bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and film for door edge guards. It was on more places than what I originally thought was included with the port option.

I made a deal with the GM at my dealer to have his 3M guy come in and wrap the front of the car at no cost to me. He ended up telling another person in the dealer to either schedule it with the 3M guy, or have it installed at port if it was an option. They only chose the hood and fender film, and the fenders have bubbles in them.

Long story short, I have an appointment with his 3M guy next Friday at 10a to have the entire front end redone at no cost to me Im just pissed I already got a rock chip on the front bumper.

That is a really crappy job. The clear bra should absolutely be covering the bumper. That area usually takes most of te abuse from rocks, bugs, etc. I have had two cars with clear bra protection, and each one covered the bumper.

Oh boy... I just now discovered this thread through a search... I just ordered my FR-S with this $299 PPF option, but I didn't realize the film doesn't cover the front bumper at least... I may have to pull off the option on my order since it seems to be a 'half-ass' coverage... Hope it's not too late to notify my dealer since they just submitted my order a few days ago...

Feel free to fill me in if I've mistaken in any way... Thank you.

When i traded in my TC, that area your showing covered was actually the area where i had the most rock chips and scuffs. The lower front bumper was not really that bad.

Hmmm... To do, or not to do? My mindset is that if I have any doubt that I will not be pleased, then I should call it off... I mean rock chips are inevitable from happening no matter how much protection on the car I seek.

I suppose when I see that first rock chip occur, I'll feel better.
