Hopefully my tires arrive today. *fingers crossed* Still waiting on my wheels but at least that will be one more thing out of the way. Now if only Ohlins would get off their asses...

Did you get the Wheels yet?? How are they custom? Did you actually design the wheels or is the size/offset custom??

The wheels are not a custom design. They are custom offset (+37), custom requested sizing like most decent race wheels. (I went 18x8) And they were machined to be hubcentric to our cars. (56.1mm hub bore)

Main post updated!
Finally had the change to take my FR-S out to the track! The car was incredible for being bone stock, I went up to Buttonwillow Raceway for the weekend with Matt Andrews where he was performing testing on new parts and setup for his personal FR-S. I ran my car completely stock for the two days, I even ran the stock brake pads! This was my first time running at Buttonwillow and I have to say, I love this track! The car performed very well, my only complaint and it really is not the cars fault, would be the stock brake pads and tires, (for all out grip, but as far as fun they were EXCELLENT.) But you could say that about most any standard street car... This car could only bite if you if it's words fell on deaf ears. It speaks, and loudly, through your hands and your ass. If you listen, you realize quite quickly how easily you can steer this car through the throttle. When it does give up it's mechanical grip, it does so in such a smooth and linear fashion you can't help but feel like so much more driver then you actually are, as you embrace the slip angle and put yourself right on line for the next braking zone/corner entry. It is, so very good. I am gushing and rambling but the bottom line is, you need to get this thing to a race track. throw in some decent intermediate brake pads, some higher boiling point fluid and take it to the track, even on the stock tires... (I found 28psi cold to work quite well.) You will be grinning for days... And now for some pictures. Met this pretty cool guy at the track, hung out all weekend since were in the same run group. He had a very rare 965 turbo. Cooling off. Representing Tomioka Racing at Buttonwillow. (They sponsor my car.) I passed the 965, and the M3 on NT05's. That's it for now, I picked up some front camber bolts. I will install them once I do my suspension. More to come! |

Installed my GReddy SP yesterday. It is super quiet, but I like the note. May do some sort of OEM replacement mid pipe eventually for a bit more sound. The fitment and quality are excellent for the price.

I've got mine coming soon. If you find a good pairing with a mid pipe let me know I also plan on replacing it.
