Quick question...

Why do some FRS have this part black and others don't?

Is that stock bumper when it's black or do people paint it or what? Bugging the sh!t out of me. Saw 2 Halo's today on HWY with that. Is it part of a kit? garghghagrageahegaha!!!

Can't find pic of example... but yeah.

g'night. I'll check back 2mrw.

the stock version is body coloured, those that are black have been painted/wrapped by the owner

Uh. Dude. That's a shadow. That's what happens when the license plate is between the bumper and the sun.

Here's a neat trick: If you pull the car up under a tree into the shade, that dark area will disappear!

Ha. Your arrows are pointing at the shadow, so that's what I thought you were asking about. You were making me wonder a bit about your sanity.

That black lip is one of the few uses of vinyl or plastidip that actually looks good.

I just had a friend plasti dip mine a gloss black. I'm still not 100% sold on it but i guess that is the beauty of dip that I can remove it whenever I want. Worst comes to worst I'm going to leave it on for the winter to at least protect the paint in that area.

If I end up liking it I will probably go to a wrap in the future. I may also have him try a matte black and a few grays as well as the gloss black is actually a bit difficult to see against ultramarine in most lighting(or im just going blind).

Are wraps easy to remove? Do they last through weekly hand washes and hot weather? Any xp would be helpful.

I don't have any experience with wraps but based on the amount of cars that are wrapped at a professional level I would assume wrap would be safe with paint.

My friend who did the plasti dip does it as a second job so he knows what he is doing there and I have seen plenty of his dip removed with no effect on the paint underneath. I can speak to plasti dip lasting through car washes but the first few will leave some fibers and will still feel a bit "tacky" to the touch but that will go away fairly quick

Gonna start wrapping front bumper. Have small deformations starting to show now that I drive it regularly. Dirt is not forgiving, nor is hwy gravel.

Quick question...

Clear bra bro. or at least go buy the 3m spray on protective film & spray the front end. You can find them in some pep-boy or else online.

(My first lip was getting chipped pretty bad before I ran over a tire & destroyed it... on my 2nd lip I spray on several layers of the 3m spray on film. &#128518

Remember to buy quality films and always have a friend or two to help out. Heat guns really does help and expect to spend hours just doing the bumper.
