I am currently trying to install my Subaru Homelink in my FR-S based off this forum thread saying I could. I fail to see the provided connecting cable to power the mirror, any suggestions?

It's not a very long wire at all. It's strapped to another line up in there. You can JUST see it if you poke your head up there close to the windshield looking up.
It should be just slightly behind the dome light (towards the rear) and a little bit to the passenger side IIRC...

I wouldn't have kept going without the confirm Thanks! It was UP IN THERE and taped to a group if wires (like you said) had to get a smaller friend to fish it out without my large hands ripping the top apart. Thanks again!

I have the auto dim mirror with the compass but without the Homelink and I've been wanting to upgrade to this. Does anyone know if I need another adapter kit or can I reuse the one in my current mirror?

Thanks

It's a pain to find. I had to fish around in there for 30 minutes before I was able to locate it.

I just installed the HomeLink mirror and, like everyone else, it took me quite a while to find the little plug. Here is some additional information that may be useful: the plug is wrapped in thin foam rubber tape. This tricked me because I was feeling around for hard plastic. I thought the soft materials were insulation. Also, the plug was taped to the headliner, not to the underside of the roof. The location of the plug was consistent with where it is shown on the installation instructions.

Everything about the installation was pretty easy. I probably spent more time trying to locate the plug than I did on all of the other steps combined. After you find the plug, you will have to pull on it fairly hard to get it free because it has been taped down onto your headliner.

Even with all the "its in there just keep searching" i was going to give up and just assume the 2015's didnt have it. Somehow just fiddling around in there loosened up the foam coated plug. Thank you so much.

On a separate note, did anyone find that there was a lot of slop/play with the 2 holed metal insert that slides into the "U" shaped metal spring? Mine had so much juggle that when i mounted the mirror it rattled a lot. I had to wrap electrical tape around the U spring to make the metal insert snug and when the mirror is mounted and it still wobbles a little.

Part was H501SSA041 from subaruonlineparts.com

I think my homelink is buggered. The LEDs don't blink at all and not syncing however compass and auto dim work. Sucks I bought off ebay and good luck getting money back as it is electronic. Has anyone else had this issue? thanks

Thought these may help someone installing the mirror. The empty plug is where the wiring harness plugs into.

Does anyone know if the U-Pin in the existing mirror can be reused instead of the replacement U-Pin contained in the kit?
