Yeah I test drove one. But the 86 felt better in the corners. (and 50 more hp)

Yep, my NC Miata would lean more in the corners than my 86, but I would just tilt my head a bit when driving the miata ......

However, my model of miata didn't have any nannies (except ABS), so when it started to "slide" my rear wheel driving instincts from yesteryear, would kick in and I would just toss that puppy around.....

I haven't gained that degree of confidence with my FR-S ...... maybe because the nannies keep messing with me .......

Maybe, I'm getting older (more conservative/chicken) .......

Yeah I always leave the nannies on, maybe VSC Sport mode if I'm feeling dangerous.

Top down driving is great fun and relaxing. The ND is actually faster with 50 hp less. The suspension to equalize corners isn’t difficult if you read from others. Both great cars in own ways.

Yep, just replace the front sway bar with a stiffer one, inexpensive and easy...

The sales guy was trying to tell me they put that roll back in so you could feel the car better. Maybe it's true..? It was a fun car to drive. So was the Mini S. Almost makes me want to buy a new car again just to go test driving.

But it weighs more than a Miata coupe would. And a convertible 86 would weigh more than the current version.

Since it was designed as a convertible that's not entirely true.

No it wasn't. There is a whole thing in the development story why they went coupe and not hatch in the first place. If designed as a coupe for stiffness it certainly was not built to be a convertible. The only place that ever said it was designed as a convertible was one of the clickbait sites when they said that the drop top version would be out in 2016.

I think we're talking about a miata. Right?

Just hold the TC off button for 5 seconds. No more nannies. Well less nannies. Use the pedal dance to turn them all the way off. If it's dry, no nannies for me.

If it's wet, vsc sport mode. I learned that one the hard way lol.
