What is Americoat?

Americoat is an acrylic based resin coating that has been designed and tested to provide all of your hard surface protection needs, while giving you amazing gloss and luster.

Advantages:
  1. AmeriCoat is over 100 times thicker than a traditional wax application.
  2. While most waxes only last 1-2 months, and most sealants 3-5 months, Americoat provides 2 plus years of protection.
  3. AmeriCoat has superior hydrophobic properties to give you that "sheeting affect" to help self clean, keeping damaging surface contaminants to a minimum which will extend the life of your paint.
  4. AmeriCoat will provide protection from UV rays as well as weather and nature related elements.

With the self cleaning properties that Americoat offers, you will see an amazing reduction in effort in washing your vehicle, as well as far less micro marring due to less dirt and contaminants being able to adhere to the applied surface. AmeriCoat Acrylic Paint Coating utilizes one of the most advanced acrylic resins on todays market. This coating offers an extremely durable hard acrylic coat which can protect various vehicle finishes for more than 2 years against minor scratches, acid rain, bird droppings, corrosive traffic film, tar, and harmful UV rays.

Along with the protection, AmeriCoat also offers a deep, rich gloss to your vehicle's finish. Since this coating forms a semi-permanent film, it is recommended, but not required, to remove any paint imperfections before application of the coating. AmeriCoat can be applied to any painted surface, headlights, taillights, windows, plastic trim, as well as aluminum and chrome surfaces.

What's the difference between Americoat and Opti-Coat?

Americoat feels slicker (better cleaning) and looks better (has a deeper gloss) then Opti-Coat PRO. Opti-Coat does have more durability but it's overkill for people not keeping their vehicles 5+ years and daily driving them.

Americoat is the most budget friendly professional only coating available

Its 2 years plus so about 2-3 depending in usage of the vehicle but if your garage storing/ winter storing or something else then its more.

The name is patriotic some like it, some don't but besides that it's in the product what matters most and this products provides paintwork with extraordinary gloss and Shine.

Compared to Opticoat, what's the performance claims of Americoat? Do you have a video demonstrating the product?

Hi,

Contact the company to see if they can set you up with a installer or send you a bottle if there is no installer.

Radroach,

Opti-Coat and Americoat are very similar in protection. They are both 100 times thicker than wax, they provide better protection against acid rain, tree sap, bird dropping, bug cartilages etc. but the durability of Americoat is around the 2-3 year mark, more if the vehicle isn't daily driven garage parked etc.

Americoat actually looks better on the vehicle because it has a very unique property. When applied it has a very thick film build (clear) and a vehicle with more clear has a deeper shine. It's noticeable when done side by side to Opti-Coat but hard to capture on camera if you don't have a good camera or if you don't know what you're doing (<- This guy).

Where Opti-Coat beads water off, Americoat sheets water what this means is that when it rains outside you get these dried water droplets on the surface where Opti-Coat was applied, with Americoat that does not happen as the water is uniformly distributed around the surface as it falls of the vehicle.

Opti-Coat is still a great product but this is just another option for people who are looking to come in and have it reapplied every 2+ years. The cost of this installation is very budget friendly. Just call your local authorized installer and find out what it is. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi Hamza! Thanks for making this installer list for us installers!

Americoat is awesome guys, it's very protective and super glossy! I've got mine ready to go and I LOVE working on the FR-S and BRZ!!! If you're from CT, or just over the border in MA, or in the Westchester, NY area, get in contact with me and I'll get your car looking better than the day you picked it up at the dealership!

Can this be applied over opticoat? I ask because I had my car opticoated when I first bought it 2 years ago and since then have replaced the bumper and had a fender repaired. Also, how does this hold up on wheels?

Yes it can be applied over Opti-Coat and the repair portions. Also great for rims, it's very easy to clean rims after the application.

I've gotten no response from them for weeks now. Pretty sad.
