Hey thanks. glad you enjoyed my research! if your t5 calls for an ATF dont use the pentosin MTF2 in there if you need dex3 and mercV compliance they have a pentosin ATF1, but I dont know that tranny, not the same as my borgt5 I have yet to send my sample in for uoa, but will, having tracked it heavily as for fill volume, you fill till it drizzles out the hole guys |

I already have the fluid in the trans, so I'll give it a try and see how it goes. If the worst happens, there is an adaptor plate available to swap in a TR-3650 5 speed or BW T-56 6 speed trans. Either one would be a vast improvement over what I have now.

drain out the pentosin from your mustang, save it for the 86, ok to reuse, if its not dirty
refill with one of these http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...2281&ppt=C0207 [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Torco-A220085C-Automatic-Transmission-Bottle/dp/B005DTWTJS"]Torco A220085C HiVis ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid Bottle - 1 Liter, (Case of 12) : Amazon.com : Automotive[/ame] lmk, think you will like the torco in your Mustang! I'm a bit of a fluid geek, so if you try it PLEASE let me know Last edited by Huehuecoyotl; 04-15-2013 at 11:21 AM. |

I've heard good things about Torco. Importing oils into Canada can be a pain in the arse, so I'll have to see if I can find a local supplier. I like how it stacks up...
....................Amsoil Torque Drive ATF...................Torco Hi Vis.......................Pentosin MTF2 K.V. @ 100 ..............7.4................................. .........8.32...................................7. 7 @ 40.......................37.1..................... ...................35.0........................... ........38.3 V.I. ........................170....................... ..................216............................. .......177 I couldn't get the numbers for the Pentosin ATF (password protected), but I like the looks of the Torco. Amsoil also listed PPM for boron, calcium, and phosphorous at 133, 28, and 230 respectively. Of the fluids I've tried so far, I like the Torque Drive best. I'm not an oil geek yet, but I'm working on it. I'll stop polluting your thread with Mustang crap and shoot you a PM if I get my hands on some of the Torco ATF. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Huehuecoyotl
if you were banned as Gmooker? isn't it technically against the rules to make another account with another name? |

I'm allowed to be here till someone says I am not. so long as I dont cause drama, I have expressed to the admins my desire to be a member of the community and add value knowing fully well my viewpoints arent always popular. take this thread where i may say I suggest a oil you can try if you like, and yet so many come at me like I'm ill intended. I'm not. Same with another thread where I a new vendor just rubs me the wrong way. Its for the community to know they have never sold a part ever before, and have only made one prototype of two LCAs, and so its never been tested-while I have a hard time supporting that sort of thing, Now a days, I must simply step out from a thread before I get drawn into a tennis match. Trying to be a bit better about my making comparisons and blanket statements, but we all do it so its taking a position and trying to not upset the moderators again, its my nature to ask for clarity, question, challenge and define. Not everyone likes it, but its the nature of science. why, you got something we need to talk about? I'm here to talk if you need to. |

My love for the platform is strong as evidenced by owning two 86, one fully on modded with alot of tested ,proven, mods that I openly share as much as I can about, and also by my passion for cars and all things with wheels in general.
We are all human, so I dont expect everyone to agree with everything I say, but I truly DO hope I can add value to the forum for owners and ultimately make owning, and improving and finally driving your 86 as joyous and experience as my wife and I have been enjoying our twins. I'm here for the community, not the vendors, and am here to build my car and share my build with everyone. I love seeing other well built efforts as well. I'm not advertising, I'm the same guy, same car same tester, Just trying to be more sensitive this round and will make every effort to avoid it getting UGLY. |

Put this in last week. Temps are around 60 degrees here but the shifts seem to be a lot smoother. Noticed more so when the car was cold.

Is this the same Pentosin MTF2 that I think it is? A 5 pack for that price is giving me doubts...otherwise I'll just pick it up locally for ~$20/bottle.
