Reminds me of a post I saw on FB the other day. Someone was complaining about religion and started their post with "Good lord!". I thought that extolling the goodness of the lord was an odd way to start a post complaining about worshiping said lord.

I bet this thread will be over soon, because I bet neutral will be driving an FR-S again shortly.

If you power on before the corner exit, your going to have a bad time! Unless you like under steer. Sorry for your loss though. Dat RWD will bite you.

Well, if you enter a corner with too much corner entry speed you get understeer.
If you now give too much throttle, you will have even more understeer.

In contrast, if the corner entry speed is fine and you apply too much throttle you may get oversteer or a big drift (as happend here).

If the entry speed is fine, you may use the throttle to balance the car during cornering from mild understeer to neutral to mild oversteer to a big drift (just in the order of applying more an more throttle). Usually you will look for a fast but neutral ride through the corner (so with limited throttle).
Only after the cornering apex or in the corner exit I would usually start to accelerate more or even hard.
By this way you use the throttle all over the corner to modify the car's behaviour.
However, there is no clear rule, its up to the driver to feel, how much throttle he can apply in which point of a certain corner, as the grip level, the corner entry speed and bumps/uneven surface etc may vary completely between two corners. E.g. you will certainly dose the throttle in the wet more carefull than on dry tarmac.

We are up to 5 now by my count. 3 frs, 2 brz. This frs, the rear ended one, and the raven that hit someone running a red...

and 2 brz, one overseas that drifted into a tree, and another that drifted into something, or cornered too hard into something.

Make it one more FR-S. I came over an overpass and rear ended a truck. Any clue on lead time to get new body parts? Insurance is taking care of it and everyone was OK, now I'm just worried that getting bumper/hood/fenders/etc is going to be an issue with a new car.

These things are dropping like flies. Sorry to hear that man... I wonder if this is an unusual amount of early wrecks for a new car, or if we're just hearing about them more than usual because of the close-knit nature of this community. Glad you weren't hurt. Just repeating what I said in my PM, my wait time was going on over 2 months. Hopefully yours won't be as bad since we've had some time for parts to start trickling in.

If you're worried about the insurance on an affordable 2-door RWD sports car, you may want to consider looking for different cars...

I think it's a more the community. Accidents happen a lot, and since most owners are on here we just hear about it. But it is a car that people tend to drive hard as well, so the boundaries are being pushed in them
