No no, don't have her watch the movie first. Then she'll have an idea of what to expect. Headphones and complete darkness are the only way to play that game. Nothing like "here try this" ending up with "WHO PUT CRAP IN MY PANTS?!"

An interesting technique. I may have to try it!

(I did show her one of the trailers on YouTube the other day, I think that might have already scared her a little)

Anyone have any good methods for getting Vanguard reputation? The strikes are good but seem to take forever for what you get (especially if your team is balls). I'm only level 1 1/4 but I already have enough Marks to buy some of the armor, but I need more rep.

My other problem with the strikes is that it seems I almost always get that one on Venus with the Archon priest (4 out of 6 times last night). I hate that strike more than anything else.

You said you are playing a hunter/blademaster.

SO I added a picture of a blademaster. Since the subclass for Hunters in Destiny is a Bladedancer. I thought a picture might clarify what you are talking about.

Farm spinmetal on the earth patrol and do turn ins. While farming spinmetal, do patrols.

Probably the easiest way to gain any reputation.

Yesterday I was awarded a legendary item from a rare engram. BUT it was a lvl 20 titan chest piece. Later I got a legendary gauntlet engram, but it awarded me another lvl 20 Titan gauntlet.

Wah wah waaaah

Titan's are pretty boss. Very tanky (although my Warlock has 1042 defense). I dislike the defender super though. So not useful. They can't shoot in, but you can't shoot out. in PvP capture its only marginally useful. I say that because eventually you'll get another titan or void walker to wise up and run into the bubble and super too :p

281. Deaths.

WTF that just sounds demoralizing. I get pissed when I die like 2-3 times in a strike.
Exactly. I have a felling I am going to rage quit this quite a bit

Yes, I agree. I've only beat two "bosses" so far and the first one got me frustrated. I finally realized I could run around shooting up minions and getting better weapons, armor, gear before taking on the "bosses". So far I'm still loving the game but I've only got past the "warp drive" challenge. I can see where the casual gamer could "hit the wall' so to speak and become furstrated with the game and quit it.
(Mortal Kombat is lyfe BTW)
I am not excited for this challenge. I would much rather grind than do it, but oh well.

The only thing that I'd consider harder from back in the day is the original Naxx, but again, that was because tedious grinding, not actual difficulty.

Best thing to do is give in, and realize that you need to farm the stupid ass patrol missions. 52% of the time I have spent in destiny has been doing patrol missions. I hate them with a burning passion now.

I vote on helium coils & mars. Smaller map, less travel, faster completion. And helium coils are useful for upgrading legendary armor.

Spinmetal is used to upgrade legendary weapons.. But thats moot Hyper. The reason for farming spinmetal is to do the turn in to get rep and cash.....

Yeah. You can turn them in to the vanguard quartermaster for rep. @hypercarfanatic

By far the easiest resource to farm (In my opinion)
