The tunes ability to enhance the exhaust pulse (huge performance improvement) with a long tube equal length header also brings with it a sound, a different sound.
Does your OP/DP have a catalytic converter, a Helmholtz Resonator? On my daughters car, I sold the following to forum members..at a huge loss $$$ Perrin Catted Down Pipe Perrin Cat Back exhaust Current system is FA20club EL catted exhaust header, Perrin Overpipe, Nameless Catted Downpipe with Helmholtz Resonator, Stock catback exhaust with Perrin Tips It's not obnoxious anymore and the datalogs are excellent

I'm going to have to offer a different opinion than tony - I've got UEL headers (OFH), Perrin 2.5" catted/resonated headerback. I can hear my farts fine in the back
Seriously though, I'm pretty sensitive to noise (I had the Evo3 catback before and had to sell it as it was obnoxiously loud to me, even with silencers). The Perrin system I have is pretty damned tame, the OFH gives it more bite, and you can tell the damned thing has aftermarket headers, but it's still nothing I would consider obnoxious. I could actually go for a bit more if I thought I could without going overboard. |

Jman, you have two opinions, get the OFT and adjust accordingly, I hope you fall in the direction of Foobar, saving money is always a good thing

@tonystewart @Foobar I installed the OFT today, no problems worked first time. I used the Stage 2 EL tune that came right on the OFT. For me the volume does not sound much louder than it was before the flash. It is definitely not too loud or annoying. My wife said she couldn't tell the difference in sound. I know the flash worked because it is clearly more powerfull in the bottom end and "pulls" at 3800ish rpm which it never did before. My question: is there a more aggressive/newer stage 2 tune that I should be downloading and putting on the OFT to flash?

After some messing around (mainly as I run a mac, not windows) - I have flashed, and running the Stage 2, UEL and its going fine.
I have powerblocks, Ultrex headers, catback. Wondered if someone could point me in the direction of dedicated Auto Trans tunes? I spotted a few threads vs google, but havent pin-pointed a specific page yet. Power bands feel better in current set up, but she doesnt like running at low revs, 1,5-2.5 seems muddy.. if that makes sense! |

Stage 2, EL or UEL depending which headers you get. Then stage 2 E85 EL or UEL. When going e85 make sure to follow the correct steps when flashing, there's info on this forum from steve99.

Ill have to invest some time and read up on the 'knock effect' - I am a total nonce when it comes to most IT stuff, so generally look to my mates to assist me, with the car however, not so much. I am running the 1st of the UEL ultrex headers, MULE car! They are sounding mint! I am conscious of not running the wrong tune, the ST2 UEL seems ok so far, but finding others with my Cal code seems limited (running an auto gt) |
