Hard mode is not available yet, so stands to reason the armor from that mode will not be available.

Hard Mode raid is not available yet. However, you can still get raid gear in Normal, just like VoG. The supposedly better drop tables seem to be true as well (though I got nothing but radiant shards). Destiny forums are showing people have gotten gloves and I think warlock chest, but I could have seen that wrong. Whether they keep raid helm for hard mode only again (like VoG), I'm not sure yet. I haven't seen a helm reported yet.

And yeah, I imagine there are some pretty awesome weapons waiting in hard mode raid too... can't wait.

Understood, I more so meant that we don't get together, I've seen you with I think bashkeys quite often. I sent some invites quite some time agifor raids but no one wanted to (or PSN messaging sucks which it has been sucking quite badly lately). Raids 9:30 on fridays and saturadys I'm up for just let me know. I can get extras to get to 6 in the party. Have you had many raids yet?

I'll speak with this guy I play with often see if you guys can get in on the blind crota raid if you'd like.

Yeah I hope I also don't sit at 29 like I did with all of my characters for months. People I raided with were like OMG you got mythoclast (which I have three), and I'm like why won't this game give me the friggin armor!!!

I've heard good things about drops in the new raid too, lots of exotics and lots of raid armor.

Guy I was talking to yesterday said to run the raid first before picking up anything in the tower since you'll probably get an armor drop. I think he said he got 4 raid pieces across his 3 characters without beating Crota on any of them.

Raid gear that was dropping was 36 light, so level 32.

We actually have two new active members. An IRL friend of mine from back in the Chicago suburbs has been playing with us, and another friend from the area just bought a PS4, so we've had 5 on at once the past few nights.

I haven't pushed any father than Templar yet in VoG. Seems like everyone else has done the raid, and I know at least bash has done hard mode.

And yeah.. PSN messaging has been absolutely shit lately. There's no excuse to get a notification of a message and then not have it show up for ten minutes or more.

Yeah, PSN has been pretty shitty the past couple weeks.
It's been taking ~10 minutes for me to receive messages or I don't get them at all it seems.

So what's the deal with materials now? My spinmetal is piling up crazy fast, I actually had to put 200 in the vault last night to make room. Besides using it to upgrade gear/weapons, there's no other use for it now? I'm starting to miss the days when you could trade it for glimmer/rep/rank.

I wish they didn't remove the material trade, getting glimmer, rep, rank, and marks was a great option to help level up.

Well thanks to the vanguard gear I'll hit level 31 soon. If octopus face is selling apotheosis veil this weekend it'll be sooner. Otherwise it'll be sometime next week when I can snag the helmet. I'm loving the new missions, but wtf one time only?

Speaking of octopus face, is he still selling exotics? Or only upgrades if you have the item? Or is it contextual, if you have the item it gives you the option to buy new or upgrade?

According to Bungie's post, all exotics he sells will now come with a base attack of 302 and a possible max of 323. All exotic weapons players currently own can be upgraded to the current version stats (starting with 302 Attack). However, in doing so you reset your entire skills tree and need to re-level the gun. You will need:

-Your current exotic
-Exotic shard
-Glimmer
-Exotic weapon upgrade

For the exotic weapon upgrade Bungie has stated Xur will cycle 6 weapons every week. So for instance if you want to upgrade your Icebreaker but he isn't offering the Icebreaker upgrade, you will have to wait another week.

I'm waiting for tomorrow to confirm all this for myself as well.

I guess my question was more about the difference between selling new weapons and upgrades, if they're going to be separate items/categories. I guess the screenshot shows new armors and weapons as before, but now there's 12 upgrade items below it in a separate category.
