pads/rotors need replacing...super confused.
Hey guys!
Like the title says, I just reached 60k and went in for a oil change and was told both the front/rear brake pads need replacing ASAP, as they are 3mm. I went to several places for confirmation and was told I needed my rotors replaced as well since they are worn and that they wont replace just the pads, which I'm fine with. But now I'm very confused on how I should go about replacing my rotors/pads. I like the OEM pads but I don't have any mechanics to take them to be installed. Every place says they don't install aftermarket pads Will the brake pads/rotors the auto service will install be enough for daily driving, do you guys think it will be way worse than the OEM pads/rotors. I only use my car for spirited daily driving. |

You need to find a local shop that will install what you want on your car (assuming it's safe).

Two suggestions:
First, find a shop that will install any new parts you bring in. Any performance shop should do this or you can order something aftermarket through them. I've personally never had an issue with any of the various random shops I've used in bringing aftermarket pads or rotors in. They just warranty their labor, not the part. Second, doing pads and rotors isn't hard at all. Just requires a basic jack and sockets. It would be an easy job for a first DIY using Youtube. We just did my buddy's Ascent recently BSing around in like 2 hours.

Give PTtuning a call. I am sure they will take on the job. They have been around the performance scene forever

I'm sure the pads and rotors your auto shop would install would be fine for your needs.
