That's disappointing, hoping to hear what actually went wrong. @aCab can u pm me what actually happened? I run my car in HPDE but I'm worried about braking it.

I'm of the belief that stock oil temps are not an issue. I could be wrong of course, but I've seen zero correlation between oil coolers and failures.

I can't recall if Austin did or not. Hell I didn't know his car had issues, the last time I've seen it was at Mid Ohio.

I have yet to have any signs of the DI failure. Lucky I guess based on others experiences I've run a cooler for most of it's track life but I wouldn't say that made any difference.. no evidence either way.

It was a factor in deciding to build my Integra for track use, but not as much of a factor as wanting to have at least a rollbar, buckets, harness, etc

I know the D4s was failing hard. But what else seems to be the problem? Besides the stock tranny not handling much more power.

Even though pro cars like ken gushis FRS get torn down and rebuilt between events, I'd like to know what all they do to make the cars handle such abuse. If only such things were commercially available with out selling my first born arms and legs lol.

A race car only needs to last the race. If it breaks on the way to the trailer no one cares.. also are any of those cars even using the FA20? I don't keep up so I'm not sure...

To all saying how horrible the brz/frs reliability is on the track, why do you keep tracking them? Not being an ass it is an honest question. If I felt thst strongly about how unreliable my car was on the track and tracking my car was important to me... why not cut my losses and get an s2000 or some other track car. Why keep the brz/frs?

It is an unknown territory that we are all stepping foot on. Without testing, development stagnates and we'll never know what the maximum potential of the car will be. While we subject ourselves to some criticism for tracking the car, we're also pointing out the weaknesses as well. As a community, we become much more informed about our cars and find ways to mitigate or possibly eliminate potential failures. We also point out a ton of BS, rumors, gossip, or simply untrue statements in the community. Data is evidence and information is empowering.

Mike drives. I lurk (j/k).

We haven't given up on this platform. In fact, we're pushing forward to show how potent this platform is by adding parts one at a time and showing the value of each setup. Having your support allows us to continue to test relentlessly.

I'm just the guy that drives and give the no-bs feedback without caring if I hurt people's feeling with the truth. Some people like it, some people don't. I just say it how it is.
