To give you a preview for our power mod plans here are a couple more photos of our second Stage 1 development kit.

In case it isn't clear, the metal bar attached to turbo is only there to hold the turbo in place for development purposes; it is not a part of the kit.
lets just say you did make a bar like that to not hold up the turbo but to replace the cross bar that was removed, do you think it would regain its rigidity? I placed my turbo in the same location and removed that bar but kept the other side. have you noticed any change in handling with it gone? I havent noticed a huge difference but at the same time I dont push my car's handling to the limit.

Hi glorydays,

A properly designed replacement strut that routes around a turbo could definitely regain rigidity lost by removing the stock bar. This is something we’ve considered and will look into at a later stage in our kit development process. Obviously a structural bar would look very different from the bar shown above, which merely locates the turbo for mock-up purposes. We have yet to gain enough testing time on our kit to determine if the absence of the passenger side bar has a noticeable effect on handling. Thanks for your comments!

Hi BadBRZ,

We anticipate the heat sink making only a slight increase in air temperatures around the alternator that should not affect its operation, but will verify this during testing.

We will also be testing for the effectiveness of the heat sink on intake air temperatures. That is to say, we want to make sure that the heat sink isn't soaking up heat from other areas of the engine bay (the alternator being one possibility) and therefore being more harmful than helpful.

Thanks for the question!

More progress on our second Stage 1 turbo development kit

(Don't mind the haze on the front bumper. The body is being wet sanded, but we needed to steal the car back from the body shop before they could finish)

Why brzedit over some of the other options out there? Are there specific benefits with using brzedit over something like ecutek?

That just happened to be the tuning device we were using that day. We have been tuning the car with Open Flash Tablet, EcuTek and brzEdit.

You guys were running this FI kit back in 2013 at 86 fest. Are you waiting for CARB approval? Or will this not be sold

A kit will be for sale. We haven't decided if we will make it CARB exempt (or make a CARB exempt version), but are considering it. Thanks for question!

Here's a look at using temperature paint in the development process of our turbo kit.

Our engineer applied the paint to various areas of the kit, ran the vehicle and then using the key (last photo) can get an indication of the maximum temperatures reached.
