I'm willing to bet it might be the caffeine. Gets to me too if I drink too much.

you know you ARE getting older..caffeinated drinks may be taking its toll on your body now. Sounds like you may have early onset of IBS (irritable bowel syndrom) which is only worsened by greasy fatty foods and caffeine

Hate to say this...but my mother has acid sensitivity too, and drinks "Sanka." Can't say I have ever tried it, but they must be doing something right if its been around all these years. Good Luck!
And nothing saying you can't always switch to low-cal energy drinks, right? Just avoid the carbonated ones. Not if he wants to stay awake and not have an amazing caffeine withdrawal. No tea has as much caffeine as coffee. Sure, its easier on the system, but he'd have to drink about 3x as much liquids to get the same amount. I'm all for a liquid flush, but that's ridiculous. |

Note: Acidity is a flavor tone, but the actual pH of coffee IS in the acidic range.

Btw, a quick google search actually finds that dark roast coffee is apparently better for people with sensitive stomachs. Go figure! |

I'd try drinking a half glass of mike before Ur coffee love making session, and finish the milk after. Milk is a base and should help with Ur upset stomach and counter react the acid. I used to drink tons of milk as a kid. I simply stopped as I got older. I started getting crazy daily heart burn recently just looking at food. Started drinking milk again, problem solved. Might not be Ur answer, but at 2.99 a gallon try it out.
