i've read a lot about this camera breaking and over heating. how do you like it so far.

i really want a dashcam but can't see mto decide. the motion sensing feature is really nice. i'm torn between this and the Itronics ITB100HD this new blackvue 400hd-II and the dual camera itronics ITB80G.

i wonder if not having a dual camera is a big issue, as i'd like to be able to see inside the car but i can't seem to find any good reviews.

i also have a mac, none of this seems to be compatible any insight would be great!

What if their is constant motion in front of your car (like parked in front of bust street, etc)

Would that drain your battery?

EDIT: Just saw your post on Page 3 about the battery drain

If it connects to the v12, that should do just fine no?

As an interesting side-effect of the camera's heat while running, I came out to my car this morning to find frost all over the windshield, except for a decent sized circle where the camera was mounted. The heat defrosted almost half my windshield.

That said, I reduced the parking mode sensitivity because the night to daytime transition seemed to be enough to activate parking mode recording.

I actually bought a power safety device to prevent the battery from draining, but I'm wondering where is the best place to tap onto the car battery power? Not exactly good with electrics so a simple easy to do solution would be great. Any advice?

It's really not complicated. My first mod for this car was installing a signal flasher. This was my second mod. It took longer and buying the two add-a-circuits ended up costing me $30 extra, but otherwise these guides are great. When you get to each stage, it'll make sense when you look at the pictures.

The only "mod" I've ever done on any other car I've owned (and this is my 8th car) was replacing the engine air filter on the car I drove before this one.

Quick tip for anyone with these cameras: don't blindly plug in the AC adapter to the side of the camera. The slot for the AC cord is the same size as the video out slot. I stuck it in the wrong one, and thinking it wasn't in tightly enough (when the camera didn't power up), I broke the button on the other side of the camera. Didn't take much in the cold.

Now the parking mode button is stuck in and won't spring back out, so now when I'm driving, it's spastically turning parking mode on and off at random, shouting voice prompts at me.
