Love when Tsuchiya pulled the hand brake (with Leno driving) to cause the car to rotate as opposed to drift into the wall!!! Classic.

Seems like this car is becoming quite the phenomena.

This is the most decent I have ever seen Tsuchiya-san. Every video he's in he's trying to molest some young Japanese girl...

I commend Jay Leno for trying. And for all you haters, Jay doesn't care, because he'll just say...

I wish I was in Leno's seat driving with D.K. teaching me how to drift.

Wow, really tough crowd. The guy is 62 yo old and of the 100+ cars he has in his garage which one would he be expected to learn how to drift in? I think its rather impressive for the twins that the guy is as impressed with them as he is...how many sub 30K cars does he ever even sit in anymore?

Most people (including myself) don't see the point of owning so many cars without being able to drive them properly. That shows a lack of passion, maybe laziness. I guess some would say he doesn't truly deserves what his money lets him buy.

Naaah. RHD isn't much different from LHD. It takes no more than a few minutes to get used to. It's not like pedals are inverted or anything, just the driving position that changes.

lol...thats like saying you cant own a painting without being able to properly paint it yourself, or having nice cookware without being a michelin star cook. The only "proper" use for any vehicle (be it airplane, car, boat or bike) is to get from point A to point B, everything else is simply a bonus (such as quickest times...). Thats just my opinion obviously...

While I agree in theory, in practice, after years (the man is 62) of driving LHD cars, switching to a RHD car for the purpose of a quick drift lesson on camera would be rough. Working the e-brake and gear stick with the left hand would be confusing. Doing something new (aka drifting) would seem like things are going incredibly fast, and then trying to resist the habit of using your right hand that you've been using all your life while things seem to be going so fast would be next to impossible. And the windshield wipers coming on is just accidentally hitting a lever thats in a slightly different spot with a different feature. IMO, not as easy as some people seem to think.

Not trying to say he did well (because, lets be honest, he didn't), but he had everything working against him.

So you are saying that if a person cannot drift, they cannot drive properly? What about F1 drivers and Nascar drivers? They would be having the same problems as Jay

If you watch "Love the Beast" you'll see Jay admits to his lack of ability to drive IIRC.

I'm not sure I agree with you. I'm not a Leno fan, but respect his love for cars...all cars. He collects them, just like some of us collect paintings or hot wheel cars or baseball cards. The difference is, he has the money to collect all of his dream cars. Nothing wrong with this.
