Pics! TRD sway bars and TRD quickshifter.

I figured I would take some pictures of what is included in the kits. Made this post mainly for the sways as I couldn't find anything about them other than a blurry camera phone picture. Didn't want to set up the photo booth or spend a lot of time taking photos so full auto setting is what you get.




TRD doesn't list the front sway bar size and on the website reports a 17.5mm rear sway bar.


The TRD documents for the sway bar list 21mm front and 16mm rear. Actual measurements, not pictured, are 20.96mm Front and 16.2mm rear. (I figured the epoxy coating varies a bit)


As compared to the already discussed stock 18mm Front and 14mm rear.

That I am unsure of. I have not found the sizes listed anywhere yet.

Can you measure for us? Calipers are dirty cheap at harbor freight

If you read above I posted the sizes for the USDM sway bars. (What trd's website says, what trd's instructions say they are, and the actual measurements I took with a caliper.)

The unknown size was referencing the JDM yellow sway bars which I do not own.

Stock sway bars: 18mmF / 14mmR

TRD USDM (Reds): 21mmF / 16mmR (TRD USA website says the rear is supposed to be 17.5mm, the Install instructions list 16mm. However actual measurements were 20.96mmF / 16.2mmR)

TRD JDM (Yellows): Unknown sizes

I wonder if they're hollow or solid. I should translate that page. Thanks for the info.

I installed the sways and the car feels heavier in a straight line and can get the tail out more controllably. However I quite dislike the short shifter as it feels like I need quite a bit more effort to shift into gear. (Personal preference.)

still unknown if its hollow or solid for the 15mm rear for yellow

The red would have the most change while the yellow has a probably minute, but effective difference. Very interested in trying out both, but wouldn't the Red front bar induce more understeer? hmm

The idea is that the thicker rear sway bar will induce more oversteer, thus mitigating the added understeer. Especially as the sways come in a kit, it seems.
