a member proposed a fix he did for another platform using ECU changes. Had to do with pump target at idle.

If you slightly increase your rpms to kick the pump off that target at idle, you'll notice the crickets immediately go away. His fix was akin to knocking the fuel pump outside of that range at idle to remedy the issue, but never followed up on it

EDIT - Found the thread that pointed to his quote. @wheelhaus

LOL I'm sure it's a fluke! Those crickets will be back in concert in no time. I just noticed they'd stopped... At least for now.

Of course, it could be the fact that I also installed a Borla UEL and muffler delete. Boxer rumbly-rumble > crickets! Scared them all away! ...little bastards...

Not working well for the crickets on Lucas. :P

I bet my fuel injectors are super clean though. Great for that use!

1200 miles so far and no crickets. After reading through these threads, I'm stressed now and waiting for the blasted things!

Have any updates for us? I've pretty much resorted to getting the pump changed whenever I take it in for service. Sadly I've lost count. I think I'm heading for pump #4 later on this week. At least I'll get to enjoy the noiseless pump for a little while.

May I ask, how many chirpy vehicles have mods or run something other than 91 octane? I ask because my car is the same as the day I bought her (Aug. 2012), save the leaky taillight and I have yet to hear crickets. I've been running BP's 91 octane from day one and have no issues, unless I'm tone def.

The only mod(if you can even call it that) is an aFe air filter. I've run nothing but Chevron 93 octane in mine, and 4 pumps later I just gave up and deal with the chirping...
