....And even if you do use your VIN for verification you will still find some incompatibilities, and your ordered part wont work. I have to admit, buying parts for my previous P-cars is usually less fun, and more work than other project vehicles.
But it is still fun.

although, as part of that grand bargain we arguably are in the renaissance of engine technology to date: 100 hp/liter isn't a crazy thing, my old 95 mustang gt and my new 15 brz roughly have the same 1/4 mile performance with half the cylinders - and what companies are doing with turbochargers in crazy - those old turboed cars all had that lag and crazy boost sensation and now they can make a small turboed 4 cyl pull like an an 8. (even if im not the hugest fan of turbos, hey... progress i suppose..)

Domestic performance engines are currently at the top of their game.
Japanese performance engines were at their peak in the early 90s-early 00s. They're not as overbuilt anymore and their use of top shelf parts has declined since. Modern European performance engines..maintenance? Run, run far away.
