Autocross next wknd for me! Interesting response re: classing..

" Hi Mark,

Once they've sold 1,000 cars in the US, it'll be eligible for Stock class. Until it's officially classed (later this year or next year), it'll be in Super Stock (SS). It will likely end up in C-Stock, but speculation doesn't count

If you have the chance to race it before they've sold 1,000 in this country, you could run in Time-Only.

--Bryan"

So we really can't run any stock class until 1000 are sold??

I guess just to get behind the wheel and run the course, learn how the car reacts/handles and such is what I am really looking fwd. to mostly! Excited to see how it does!! But how lame on classing / time only...

Any insight / thoughts?

Thanks!

Well, at least now I don't feel bad about not pre-ordering so I'd have one in time for summer autocrossing.

Until national classing is announced it is completely up to the descretion of the local region where to put you. That being said, if they allow you to run cs and a cs competitor gets grumpy about it, they can protest you... But at locals people dont (and shouldnt) care that much. Usually if you ask nicely to your competition before the event you will be fine. Besides, i assume youll be running the oe tires which shouldnt be competitive anyway. Just go have fun and dont worry about it. Run XP

Yea F that my local chairman should know better than to class it under SS. I'll ask for CS.

Thanks Guys!! Yeah I will give it a shot, I wouldn't think others would have an issue, racing on stock tires and hoping CS will work! If not, I will still have fun battling the course / learning the car

I spoke to guy in charge of classing, he said he is cool w/ letting me run C-Stock as long as others in class don't have a problem, PROGRESS !! Regardless, I just want to go battle the course and learn the cars handling/limits!

Yeah I'm running with the DSP cars at my local club next month. That's where my other car runs so the guys there won't care.
