Reality seems to be that black accents (especially wheels) don't look that great in pictures but might be the look im looking for in person. It seems like I'm just having a difficult time finding inspiration compared to other setups but I may just give the STi kit and roof wrap the go.

This was my general plan, except there's no E85 stations within reasonable distance. I would've thought 220HP and 180tq.

Tuned it with OFT. I know it's probably an echo by now, but this is the way it should've come from the factory. Can't wait until the rest of my goodies get here so I can flash the stage 2 tune.

Just the Perrin catback, inlet tube and a drop-in filter. The stage 1 tune wakes it up very nicely. I also ordered the Openflash header andd Berk catted frontpipe, both of which are backordered at the moment. I have a Perrin overpipe I bought off a forum member waiting to be installed when the other stuff gets here.

no kidding. I'm in the dark about all this open flash stuff. I just figured it was for boosted cars. is this something you did or did you take it to a guy?

Ecutek is a better option for a boosted car, and will allow you to get a custom tune for your exact setup. Openflash is more generic and comes pre-loaded with a few off the shelf (OTS) tunes for typical setups, ie - Stg1 for basically stock cars, Stg2 for cars with UEL headers, etc.

OFT is something you can do completely on your own - you don't have to pay a tuner, license fees or anything. You pay for the hardware that allows you to do the tunes yourself and they have a library on their website that you can download some of the OTS tunes.

They have tons of info on their website here.

The numbers themselves don't mean that much to me; I just wanted a baseline for comparison down the line. Also, it was really hot--I think around 95-100*. Regardless, the car makes me happy, and you can totally feel a difference with E85.

Sat and cried next to it.

Not even a month.... I know the paint sucks, but these are substantial. Can't recall any rocks hitting that hard. Maybe the power wash ripped some contaminants off? Discovered after washing car. Haven't heard good things about Subaru touch-up paint and not sold on Dr. ColorChip. Sigh. What to do what to do...

Thanks for the recommendation. Was looking at their products yesterday. Might go ahead and try this.

Dr. Colorchip is ok for a "good enough" job. It will change the color of the chips to match the paint, but you can't really fill the chips with it. Instead, go with automotivetouchup.com and get the paint and some clearcoat. Find a local detailer and they can take care of it. If they're good, it can be almost as good as new.

You could also do it yourself if you're feeling ambitious and have a DA polisher and some 1500-3000 grit sandpaper.
