For the older track addicts out there
I've always wanted a "tripod" photo, and shortly after my 65th birthday, it happened

Here's mine from Buttonwillow at the end of October. Needs more drivermod, I'm planning to get a lot more of it in 2019.

When life gives you lemons, weld up a press and get to squeezing!

After breaking a huge chunk off of my second hand, 2 year old, beat to heck velox splitter that had been drilled, hacked, and cobbled to death to keep it "working" it was time for a real front Aero solution. The cardboard held up for a track day by the way - trailing edge isn't under huge load But the thing has always been flexy, bumper mounted wonkiness. It served it's purpose.

THE NEW Splitter frame hung from a replacement crash beam is in progress, as is new, more robust ducting. Cut up and welded a Drift Armor "crash bar" for supporting the frame struts. New splitter will be plywood (they're sacrificial anyways if they're low enough to generate real DF) and mounted to this bad boy...Hopefully all wrapped up by this weekend - I want to test it out!!!

New splitter and support frame work!

New splitter, frame and ducting all finally on track together, and it DOES make a difference!

Impressive machine you've built. Look how far it's come :

Mine on the other hand -- looks the same...

Thanks for letting me drive it at MSRC - had a blast.

Surge tank plumbing all made. Wiring in place. Just need to add a return fitting to the in tank fuel basket, and hard mount the surge tank Fuel starvation is almost a thing of the past (I hope!).
EDIT: Replaced the In Tank pump with a DW65c for ethanol compatibility, hard mounted the radium surge tank to the trunk ledge it is on the in pic, ran the lines through a grommet made from the plug that was in that hole, connected all the lines at each end, fixed the inevitable fuel leaks that popped up.

Flicked the key between off and run a couple dozen times to push all the air out of the surge tank through the return line to the fuel basket...set the fuel pressure regulator to 45 psi...AND THE CAR FIRE RIGHT UP! ran it in the garage as long as I dared (11pm in the burbs, and while not as loud as some cars in the neighborhood - it's not factory quiet ) No leaks or problems. A few more hours of clean up work and the car will be ready for the track this weekend

Hat tip to the Pit Crew!

It's still my DD so it will be a while before it goes full race car. NA with flex fuel and some suspension mods with bigger brakes and a JCR dual oil cooler/radiator
