Start tightening things down up top and i think the gap under the headlight will go away.
The gaps at the corners of the headlights is normal, there will always be a gap there. i can take a picture of mine if you'd like to see how it sits.

i think my kit even had to be trimmed slightly to clear the headlights (i didn't do the install myself)

Any pics would be great.

Monday I’m going to almost completely disassemble the front end, headlights and all and try and get this thing snug and go from there. To me it looks like it’s going to workable too. I just didn’t have enough time to work with it - it was cold and I had to get the car back on the road to go out.

Unfortunately genuine kits aren’t available anymore otherwise I would’ve just bought one and I probably wouldn’t have had as much of an issue. But alas, I think we can make this one acceptable.

I know you didn’t do the install but any idea if your headlight brackets were removed to get the bumper to fit?

Of course you can buy genuine, if you look outside the US.

I bought my v1 fenders from them, they fit perfectly.

i understand not wanting to spend a ton when there are other cheaper options but also dont forget that you get what you pay for. you can get the rep bumper you have to fit nicely but its going to take a lot more time and patience over a real kit.. either keep at it yourself, take it to a body shop or upgrade to the new facelift

Yeah I got impatient and just went for a 17 conversion. Should be done by next week.

Going with a 17’ ts “esque” swap + a full colour change while I’m at it.

I paid $400 for air shipping, but that was airport to airport, so I had to go pick them up myself when they arrived.

Of course I had the option of having the local shipping company that received it at the the airport, to forward it to me, but it was cheaper to drive there for me.

Hey whats up man I was thinking of buying the Varis Arising-II Front Lip from Aerostop and I just wanted to as how good is Aerostop before I go ahead and finallize my purchase. I really don't want to get something that fits like Duraflex and I kinda just waste money you know? Also have your heard other people talk about Aerostop as well?

Bumper came in on Tuesday and I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what I’m going to do here.

As of right now, this is the closest I can get the kit on and I’ve been trying for days.

In order to come this far, I’ve had to do the following:

- Remove headlight brackets
- Remove bumper clips from fenders
- Remove ALL under trays underneath the crash bar
- Tuck (will likely have to remove) fender liners

As you can see in the photos the fitment around the headlight is horrendous. Like there’s almost an inch gap or more in some areas. The corners by the fenders I can definitely line up no problem but I didnt want to force anything into place for fear of damaging the part of I have to send it back.

Clearance around the headlight is a major problem. Even then, lining up the top section of the bumper to bolt it into place where the hood gasket is, is next to impossible. The lip where you would have to drill holes thru doesn’t sit flush and it’s almost as if the whole top section sits narrower than it should so the bumper has to be almost forced open vertically to even get it to sit where it is.

The mounting tabs on the bottom of the bumper obviously don’t even attached to anything because well, the under tray doesn’t exist anymore.

Not %100 sure what to do. I’ve emailed the seller/manufacturer to see if there’s been a batch error. All the research I’ve done on VsAero shows that alot of there other products are actually quite good. But this one missed the mark and sending it back is going to be a nightmare.

If anyone can recommend another kit (front bumper only) replica or real, new or used I’ll gladly consider it as I don’t even have a stock bumper to fall back on - it was destroyed by a snow bank. Also considering non rocket bunny at this point even though an RB V2 kit has been a total dream of mine since purchasing the car.

Any advice helps.

I wathced an install video for the v3 kit. Apparently you have to trim the front crash bar right at the lower corners in order for the bumper to sit right in. (where the edges of the smiley face grille is). Not sure if this would help or not now.

Evasive might be able to get you a RBV2 front bumper, but they also have a ton of other JDM options too. IMO some of the other front ends are a nicer than the V2 these days but it's all preference I guess

Another option would be to hit up Trakyoto directly and see if you can get one from them
