X2 on this one. lol i dont get it you open the hood and the in take says subaru and toyota. The car may as well have been a toyta.

as for all saying they wish they had a sun roof, i dont mis that feature at all nothing worse then the sun beaming down on you throught the open sunroof.

the one thing i wish this car had was stereo controlls on the steering wheel.

other then that ive loved this car sofar, its not as powerfull as my 350 rwhp jdm toyota markII but it weights less and has far more potential imo.

I also think people who have not driven higher revving sports cars and are used to turbos with gobs of torque down low will need sometime to adjust to the car.

For me, I would love to have a little more torque and hp, but I want to keep the car NA. Judging by some posts I have seen, I should be able to get what I am looking for from exhaust, intake, and a tune and just about get me where I want to be.
Agreed different by the persons driving background, NA you can 30+ hp with intake tune and exhaust, pulleys and a bit more torque down low, but that seems like the way people wanted it from the factory

I think exactly opposite of this. The car has more than enough power for me to handle on an Autocross course but I wish it had more power in town where I am spending less time turning and more time being annoyed by stoplights.

I agree 100% I fell like unless I am above 4k rpm the car is like a prius.

yup, my friend let me drive his BRZ before i bought my FRS. First time driving the car, and first time driving a RWD since high school (owned an STi for 3 years). I was only .2 seconds slower than him, and was beating STi's, wagons, etc.

Yup. Getting ~35mpg highway is one of the reasons I picked a BRZ over a WRX. It's a calm, civilized car if you drive it like one, and a screaming animal if you drive it like one. Low weight lets it ride fairly comfortably but still handle really well, the high-revving NA engine gives you good economy at low RPMs but still has power up high.

Well that's your opinion. And my opinion is that it's slooooooow. Slow at stop lights, slow on on ramps. Slower in a straight line than over 75% of the vehicles I line up to on a daily basis (number pulled out of ass).

Fiberglass or cf hood, roof, trunk and fenders would minimize the risk.

Are you actually keeping your engine in the powerband, or are you talking about in the 2-4k rpm range?

For me, I find 2-4k rpm to be fine for daily driving, and 5k-7.4k enough power for when I really need to move.

My experience is with the roof, trunk and hood. The hood dents extremely easily since its Al. The other two pieces are steel, but thin. The fenders stood up surprisingly well.

Also, not sure how a CF roof would work, since the roof is welded to the rest of the body.

Agree that the stamped steel is thin. Price to pay for lightweight platform without the use of composites.

As far as the cf roof, there have been two solutions I have seen. One is a cover and goes over the existing steel roof. The other is a replacement that requires the factory roof to be cut out. I verified with a bodywork person that it can be removed and replaced. A lot of work though for little weight loss.

Totally agree. When I had the hail damage repaired, they actually did kind of a gel-coat thing (I don't remember exactly) where they basically filled in the more minor dents and re-painted. Might actually be more robust now...at least I hope

Well unless I dump the clutch at 4,000 rpm there's not much I can do with the car's sluggish response when leaving a stoplight. Additionally unless I decide to shift above 6,000 rpm when I go into second gear I'm stranded in the torque dip desert.

Flooring the throttle in 2nd gear above 40 mph or 3rd gear above 60 results in "good" acceleration. Nothing more, IMO.
