Sway is pretty each since it's just changing the end-link location.

Am I correct to paraphrase you that:
  • Sway adjustment for larger impact
  • Struts for fine-tuning?

given the sways and struts that you have, yes

but you could change your cars behavior quite radically with more advanced/custom dampers... but that's outside the scope of your current equipment.

I like to focus more on the various parts of cornering when tuning shocks or bars. Generally, you can easily tune steady state cornering with bars. Shock settings are used more for transition into or out of corners. So, it's important to pay attention to what the car is doing in various parts of the corner when deciding what to adjust.

Most of it is actually common sense, but as a start, read this:

The only thing I would add is, try to learn the flags in advance. And don't immediately hit your brakes if you see a red flag.

This. Playing with the shocks is going to do little or nothing for steady state cornering, but will be noticeable in transitions and entry/exit.

I have motorsport 3way's up front and stock shocks with lowering springs in the back.

The car is comical to drive.

Is there a cooling temp thread? Like a data collector.

Like;

track name/length
# of laps/hot laps
ambient temp that day
Radiator temp
oil temp
cooling setup

If we just compiled a buttload of this, it'll be a quick way for members to see which setups are cooling effectively and which arent for NA or FI.

Could a custom tune noticeably impact coolant/oil temps, if the tune is less than optimal?

In theory, if you are running lean, the burn (or explosion) is hotter than a stoichiometric burn, which could definitely put more heat into a radiator than it was spec'ed to handle and thus, raise temperatures. But eventually you'd melt a valve or seat which is less than desirable. This less than desirable burn would make power for a short time, but not be good in the long run.

No, but if you tell me what your setup is, I can probably give you an idea of if you have sufficient cooling or not.

Coolant, yes. Oil, marginally.

You'd need to have a really hot flame front, but yes. However, it's difficult to get that type of combustion without causing any other damage in the process over the long term.

At Lime Rock Park, where a modified circle track setup is good for .3-.5 since there's only a single left-hander, and it's the slowest corner on the track, you would probably want those 3-ways on the left. That would reduce the comicality a bit.

I drove my car like this to Laguna and back this weekend and even though it was not optimal, the car actually handled pretty well.

On track I am running the following:

OEM setup w/re070 tires
AMB: 75-85 deg
Coolant: 215
Oil:260-275

OEM setup w/re070 tires and koyo rad
Coolant:199-205
Oil:260-275

We are going to try out an OTS oil cooler this coming week and will have some hard numbers after that.
