I can only account for my personal experience here and give you the cold hard numbers. Keep in mind, I am in Australia and our dyno's tend to read a whole lot lower. These results were done on the same day, in the same conditions on the same dyno A dead stock but run in 86 will put down about 105rwkw. We had several stock cars run and most were around this figure by a few kw. A brand spanker from the very day before made 99rwkw. But lets use 105rwkw as a baseline. My Car has the following performance mods Openflash UEL Header Motiv Overpipe Invidia Catless Front pipe (with 100cell race cat installed into it) Invidia N1 Catback OFT with e85 map, custom tuned, stock redline Full Raceseng Pulley Kit Free Snorkal Intake Mod Perrin Intake tube The fuel used is an excellent e85 fuel consistently tested at between 93 and 95% Ethanol content My car has done just under 40,000km, 30,000 of it on the e85 tune. At the dyno day I ran up 132rwkw. A 27rwkw or 25.8% gain. If I was making 200hp stock at the fly the car is now making 250ish flywheel hp. There is also 100+nm of extra torque all in the low/mid range and the line flattens untill 7000rpm. Its a completely different car to drive. Having driven a number of different cars of all types, a high 13 at the strip is defiantly going to be possible under the right conditions as well. My point about all this is, if I can make 250+ crank hp from a budget friendly set of mods then 260-280 is realistic with cams and other mid level N/A builds. As for how much more is realistic we will have to wait and see. For interests sake, at a local supra/86 dyno meet, I beat all the N/A supra's there |

anyone give some thought to asking FBM for some custom forged 12.5 (or higher CR):1 pistons to be put in their up and coming big bore block? that with their stage 2 heads and cams, Ptuning race header, some nice exhaust...I bet thatd be one hell of a motor.

Am I the only one, or are you guys sick and tired of seeing "NA Build" threads, topics and discussions that only consist of wussy header and exhaust pieces and a tune? Imo, these are "Bolt-On Builds" and nothing else. Definitely not even a mild or medium "NA Build"
Let's see some REAL "NA" parts from companies and builds already... you know, like what we used to do back in the day with Honda DOHC engines: proper legit stuff like cams, valve springs, pistons, destrokes, upstrokes, higher revs, intake manifolds, ITBs, etc. Sick of reading only about "headers" this, "exhaust" that or "tune" this, "bolt-on" that. What's this 86 world coming to, lol. |
