$150 for a maps update? They can fuck right off. I'll continue to use my phone for free. Stock nav is a piece of shit anyway.

I have the factory nav. It loses reception all the time. It's going straight on eBay as soon as I start my stereo project.

Really? Mine is laggy as hell but I've never lost reception on anything. Radio, SXM, satellite, all have always been locked in solid.

Does anybody have the year and quarter listed for this map update in the toolbox program? I just upgraded but it lists 2013 Q1 for the date? That's almost 2 years old still? Not June 2014. I was on 2012 before so it is newer but really? Subaru is clueless.

You have to register and download their software to install the update. The download costs $149.99+tax, the one listed as (BRZ)@$184.99 is for them to send an SD card to you with the new maps on it (you can buy an SD card adapter for much cheaper, if you don't have one).

Pro Tip:

I contacted someone at Subaru and they are reimbursing me for the download. Just make a big deal out of your car coming with 2011 maps.

SoA Phone #: 1-888-628-6277
The customer support number you listed is for NAVTEQ, the SoA customer support number is: 1-800-SUBARU3 (1-800-782-2783).

So which did you really call that's my question... and I assume you made the purchase first then call them right? Did they reimburse you 100% including the tax?

Thanks!

I got the reimbursement approved before I purchased it. The reimbursement was for the full amount, including tax.

I may have started at the listed number, but continued my conversation through email. Either may work, but I believe that the person I ended up with was with the 1-800-SUBARU3 number (good catch).

I thought the navi was actually decent, not the best but I'd definitely use it.
