Same problem here about cruize control. I guess it's made for country where people can't cruize at high speed.

Terrific! I would have been shocked if there wasn't a quick fix for this.
Thanks for the hint! Quote:

Forgot to ask:
What kind of brake pads are you guys running? The stockers feel dull as fuck and need to go ASAP. Seriously, my Clasico's brakes (company car, don't blame me) feel more aggressive and demand less force on the pedal to haul the car down to a stop... (A clasico is a 90s Jetta still built and sold as new in 3rd world countries). Let's not even talk about the brake feel on a mk6 GTi by comparison. haha I have read a bunch of brake related threads, but they were all about AutoX / HDPA stuff. Wanted to hear the drifters' opinions too. Don't want to shift the bias to the front too much and risk not being able to do nice, smooth braking drifts. Seems quite a few people like HP+ up front and HPS in the back. Would be worried that that setup might not suit our needs. |

I have a million times more respect for someone that has stacked their car from giving it a go; than your typical forum oxygen theif, that spends more time arguing about trivial shit than actually driving.

Two questions:
1. Do peeps think there's any benefit to be had from swapping in a higher ratio final drive gear? 2. How is everybody doing on the stock clutch and stock diff? My clutch seems to be taking a real pounding from kicking it but it's hanging in there for now. 3. Anyone tried the 'pedal dance' for drifting? Any better than just Trac & stability off? I've been thinking of getting a cheapish drift only car but then I thought screw it, for the money I can just buy tires and clutches for this car. Only thing that annoys a bit is the weak power and the inability to do anything in 3rd (at least at my sucky skill level). :P

I have a shorter final drive, it's great for NA.
One of the first things I replaced was the torsen with a trd 2 way. Better for initation and is more predictable. I use a toda brass clutch. Stock one is pretty good, but I wanted to change the flywheel so did the clutch at the same time. With the final drive, clutch and flywheel it allows me to use 3rd easily. I have to kick it heaps but it loves it. I pull my abs fuse to disable all aids when drifting. I actually dropped my fuse into the engine bay a couple of months ago when I pulled it at a track day. Never bothered to replace it, I just run without it everywhere now. |

Oh yeah, and you still haven't shown us a pic of where that ABS fuse is either.

Fuse is in the engine bay fuse box. It's called the abs no2 fuse. It's lime green and about 1cm square |

Didn't bother me. I was laughing the whole time. It's going to happen at some point. If you're not willing to accept the risk, then don't do it. Minor cosmetic damage is no big deal. Major cosmetic damage sucks but it can be fixed. Major damage the renders a car un drive-able sucks and you need to be willing to accept the risk with a brand new car. If not, get a junker to do it with. My damage that I have accumulated over the years from drifting has all been minor and cosmetic, besides a busted tie rod. Hopefully it stays that way
