I'm sure I've missed things too... oh yeah, heated seats and mirrors, trunk liner, and I'm sure there's more yet.
Auto-dimming mirror is not standard equipment. It's a port-installed option. Push start and Dual climate HVAC is on the Limited only.

For better or worse I think that's what it really comes down to for most people.

OK, well... it's official, the Scion is a bad deal compared to the Subaru BRZ. The Subaru cost only $500 more for HID/LED headlamps, built in Navigation, and supposedly nicer cloth seats. Not to mention, Subaru dealers are willing to give price breaks and deals if needed whereas Scion is non-negotiable. Scion just failed...

Unless they decide to throw in HIDs and the BeSpoke or lower the MSRP, they are going to massively loose out to the BRZ. Grr... stupid Scion and their mono-spec/mono-price BS!

It was for me. Throw a Toyota badge on the same car and put GT-86 and I'd consider it. When they said it would be a Scion there I was Subaru BRZ from there out.

^^ This! Too many people assumed that because the rest of the Scion stable started at under 20k (even though a tC can go well up to the mid20s with options), when Toyota said the FR-S would be less than $25k, this meant $21-22k. Faulty logic.

Ok maybe I'm wrong, I really didn't think that many people who badge whores. I've never owned my own Subaru and have owned Toyotas so the badge is completely meaningless to me.

It is $1300 difference. Not $500.

Scion Pure Pricing doesn't mean a car can only be sold at MSRP, it just means that a dealer advertises a price (on TV ads, internet, street signs, wherever), that is the price you pay. No haggling. I've seen Scions on sale for less than MSRP, just every single one at that dealer is the same price.

I think most people have an affinity to "their brand" or however you want to put it. Especially car enthusiasts, even if it is irrational.

The seats are a more expensive option in the Japanese market, that's pretty much all we know. Durability, grade, reliability, and actual feel/comfort/function could all be completely unrelated to the price that actually gets charged.

OK, my bad... Still, considering nav will be a $2000 option and if HID is an option, that will be at least $800, so it's still a good deal.

I've always been a Japanese car fanboy, so personally I just cannot stand the Scion badges here in the US. For some reason I find that sickening/offensive as a loyal fan/buyer. One of many turn offs from Toyota products in recent years.
