Sucks this thread is dying....My car is will be full time trial and currently weighs 2400lbs with a half tank. Cage is about to go in so that's 150lbs or so back. Ideally I can drop 400lbs more.
Things I didn't see mentioned. Wiper fluid bottle full weighs about 15lbs. I cutoff the Japanese steel tie down hooks. Good for about 1.5lbs. FRP roof and trunk. Rear glass lexan....

Would love to see a full list of your modification to get down to that weight.

My FRS is 2,560lbs in STX trim.....I just ordered some RPF1's, so that will save another 16lbs total.

I remove wiper fluid before every race. People say I'm nuts but you can see how heavy it is when you're holding the bottle.

I like to the weight reduction concept for sure. I wish this was my weekend only car I could live without so much more "creature comforts". I wouldn't mind getting rid of the rear seats, AC delete kit and remove the radio and speakers.

I am def gonna join the add lightness wagon when I get my GT86.
In my Miata I have managed to shave off almost 100 lbs of weight while keeping all of its safety features and most of its comfort ones. Its a DD of course.

I have read many controversial posts regarding CF products for the 86 platform. So far, I have read that hood (aluminum) is not worth the hassle or the money, and the same applies for the fenders and possibly for the trunk. From whats it is posted in here, the savings are not substantial to justify the expense.

How about the roof and the doors?

CF doors 10.05 lbs http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...-use-only.html

CF roof 6.83 lbs http://seiboncarbon.com/store/produc...te-finish.html

I know its a ton of money but I am thinking that if and maybe the weight difference for the roof is substantial, it may worth a shot as it will give the added benefit of further lowering the already low CofG...

I know this is old but curious where you got your weights from on the Seibon Dry carbon parts. They have a sale going on but don't have the weights listed. Was thinking of going for the dry door and trunk lid if there are light. Then go back and do the roof next spring either from them or Marsh powerhouse dry carbon.

Think Im going to skip doing the hoods since the weight loss is minimal even with dry carbon. I may just swiss cheese some of the underskeloton of the stock hood.

Looks like I get to answer my own questions from a few years ago.

Seibon DRy carbon hood with vents - 13.5lbs

Seibon Dry carbon fenders - 3lbs

Seibon Dry Carbon Doors - 11lbs

Seibon Dry Carbon Trunk - 7.5lbs

This thread really needs to come back. I weighed in at 2500 on the dot with a 4 point cage and 18” street tires dry. Stripped interior left the dash, still have ac and original glass. Have since put a supercharger on it so probably 2550 now. But I did get an aluminum driveshaft. Needs corner balance because the rear is about 200lbs lighter than the front. I think a short exhaust could save midpipe back in weight too. Like fender exit or something such as hype enos tt frs.
