If you have AutoCrossed your BRZ/FRS Give your impressions here

Havn't got mine till next week and I have a Autocross the week after. So I figured we could have an all inclusive thread..

Give me your Experience, and impressions please...::happy0180:
My Experience: 12 years running a Subaru RS, then a STi in various classes including a national level campaign with the STi in BSP.

Thanks everyone

Bill

Started in 2003 with my college's club
started with SCCA in 2005
I've ran:
1997 Celica ST (unclassed prior to competing in SCCA)
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo (SM2 classed but not correctly prepped)
1991 Toyota MR2 Hardtop NA (ES classes and prepped)
2005 Subaru WRX (STX classed and prepped)
2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP (BSP/ASP classed and prepped)

Also have ran STR S2000, F125 kart, 97 M3, as well as others I have a hard time remembering.

Bill, I got a delivery date of 6/18 so we'll likely have atleast 3 BRZ's at the Toledo Pro! Though I think yours will be the only one competing.

Im interested to see how the GXP will come for you, it seems like an underestimated competitor around here.

Solstices (Solsti?) are f**kin' quick at auto-x! I can only imagine how the GXP must be.

Anywho, well I don't have more than 10 SCCA SoloII events under my belt, which is mostly due to the fact that my old cars are always breaking! BRZ will fix that.

Ran the following:
-1994 MR2 Turbo once in SM2 (now SSM)
-1987 MR2 hardtop 4x in STS2 (now SSTS)
-2000 Impreza 2.5RS once in DSP
-1990 240SX once in STS
-1990 MX-5 in STS2 (now SSTS) - At the NER Team Challenge under the team name "Elvis-Loving Space Lobsters with Upper Class Mustaches"
-Ran same 1987 MR2 (Now classed as SSM) at non-classed ADSI auto-x/driving school

I plan to run the BRZ in auto-x once or twice but the MR2 will remain my main competition car unless it's broken (it frequently is).

Hey! I think I just found your car. Were you running this livery by any chance?

Got any other views? Like the artistic touch but doesnt really give you much on the car. Looks like fun though!!

OT: Video from the last local in the GXP not me driving in this one.

Took some no helmet "safety runs" in third gear...like what I see so far. Will provide lots more detail when I run it for real

Fun times

Slaloms were nothing, just fast transitions back got a little loose. The car gives great feedback and was very predictable. Everyone commented how Flat the car remained throughout the course, hardly any swaying at all. 2nd gear is long enough I didn't have to shift at all. A few times I was under 4500 / out of Powerband and took a bit to accel, but I was Impressed for fully stock setup! Grippy Low treadwear tires shall do wonders, I am going w/ Hankook RS3 for next event, very curious to see how much more competitive I can do with tires. Out of #50 entries, I finished #30 in the pack. A Stock newer M3 and S2000 were a few secs on my. I ran a best of 56.0 through course.

Very cool...thanks for sharing.. ...

Something All STOCK BRZ owners will be interested in from the Service manual:

Replace the upper mounting bolt of the shock absorber ASSY FR and knuckle with a replacement bolt. (Part No.: Flange bolt 14×60 (901000394)). The range adjustable by replacing the bolts is 0°± 45'.

From my understanding there is a Stock (Crash bolt for the Scion also)
