Custom supercharger?

I know it wouldn't be cost effective, but hypothetically could a system be designed to take advantage of the layout of the engine? You've got the throttle body, and the belt drive right in front.

Many of us are looking to reduce the torque dip, and add a little more toque/hp. Say 200 WHP. Most S/Cs are inter cooled so have piping going all over the place, or from front to back. The cow worth is the only one with the pulley and intake in the front. But then it's $6500.

Anyway, this is just a thought experiment, nothing more.

I don't know what you mean by intake and pulley on the front. The Cosworth doesn't have it's intake/throttle body on the front side.

The Edelbrock has the throttle body and pulley on the front.

Anyways, I don't understand the point of this question; all of the positive displacement superchargers replace the intake manifold, so the throttle body can go wherever is convenient.

So like this, basically?

If you're dropping $5k on FI, only 200whp doesn't seem worth it.

My mistake, yes I meant the Edelbrock. Sure, they can replace the intake manifold, and that adds to the cost. I don't mean for this thread to be like "oh derp", just curious. And "packaging" was a good reason.

Positive displacement means increasing the displacement on the intake side.
