WHAT IS THIS SOUND?

When my ventilation fan is on there is a clicking sound that comes from the engine compartment when the pulley/wheel that is next to the oil filter stops and starts. I never noticed this before. Is it normal?

It doesn’t seem to matter if the A/C is engaged. What is that pulley/wheel connected to, and what does it do?

Thanks!

Okay, thanks! I was just worried because even when the A/C was off, the compressor was still turning on and off.

Yep, it will do that, depending on your ventilation settings.

You don't need to worry unless it don't click -

It'll do that in the defrost modes.
