It's rare that we make it that far West, but I've been all the way to the Westcoast so you never know.

So I get right away what you are getting at. Even now as I'm letting paint dry on my headers about to crawl yet again under the car I wish I had the 800 or so for a shop to do this work.
the hardest part if finding a shop that does good work and doesn't take short cuts.

When was it ever claimed to be street friendly? Even if it's not an actual 9 second car, thing hauls ass.

Safety glasses are cheap, but when it's 85 degrees outside with 80% humidity, it sure is hard to see up into a dark engine bay when your safety glasses are all fogged up.

i don't know how it works in canada, but in the US, the union accepts just about anyone that's willing to sign up and wait, or immediately accepts anyone that has connections within the union. but there's no pre-work prerequisites that i'm aware of.

my company is part of the midwest chapter of the IEC. very short version, it's somewhat like a non-union union, except at the company level instead of the employee level. we've got our own school, same as the union, recognized by the department of labor, just the same as the union school. but no one i've talked to has any experience prerequisites.

the main prerequisites are a mostly clean driving record, no illegal activity, no drugs, a willingness to work, and some mechanical aptitude--my latest test is to have the new guy take a 10x10 canopy, set it up by themselves, and then after a little while, take it down and pack it back up to how it arrived onsite. you wouldn't believe how difficult this is for most of the latest hires...

try https://ceca.org/
it appears to be the canadian equivalent to our iec.

It was in a bit of iron pipe as I recall. But... Details may be off, it was a visiting Smith that made this insane replica of a sword with a core of 4 twisted rods. He was a bit crazy. And I was young. But, I bet people work better. Once you've run them through they likely aren't worrying about a beard either.

I guess my point is it sounds more like a drag car build than a "restoration", unless he is restoring a funny car.

There are reasons why you can buy half finished products for dirt cheap or get a fully finished car that will say "asking $20,000 have receipts for $80,000 in work". When considering a budget it can be far, far less expensive to alter a completed car than start from scratch and build the whole thing.
Again, buying finished would be ideal, but the cars I like don't exactly have a market. I'm lucky to just find them, let alone them already be restored. I could settle and buy something more readily available, but every time I try to convince myself of that it doesn't seem worth the money because the cars that are available are not what I want.

I've been working on a module to search similarities between images. I'm preparing now how the installation will look to the end user. I've used this image for the module Front end designers would most likely change it but, I hope my boss likes that and keep it
