Looks like there are hiding the rear wheel.
if this was the moddelista version, where is the fin on the roof?
here in norway the dealers are saying it will most likley be called celica.
and a prize around 70000 to 80000 dollars.

The 18s are Modellistas, not TRDs.

And there while everybody was trying to figure out the CF roof, I've been wondering what the hell that bit is. Widebody?

But what's really interesting is their theme in this commercial. They are really taking another route from other car companies. Instead of just showing the car drive down a windy mountain road and having it rev like mad, they are appealing to our childhood innocence. like the first time driving a Fischer Price car or the magic of playing with a model car for the first time. They really are trying to bring back the joy of driving through this car and this commercial shows how much they care about the little details.

Gah I wants it now!!!!!
that's a very common approach in marketing... but I played with toys jeeps when I was a kid not with Toyota 2000 GTs lol,

I don't like the idea of retro styling cues they transferred to the ft-86, I mean the glass house looks nice, but 2000 GT??? And the high front fenders...together with that rising waist line... yuck! look at the sketches at 0:15, that does not look nice, was it for the sake of retro, why...???(pedestrian protection reg. is mostly bonnet related I think)
I personally hoped for a more modern design, more like the design of the Concept I.
The final car looks nice yeah and I want it, but it already looks a bit dated. It looks like a mix of a Ferrari California and a Maserati GT, what is not bad, but it could have been much more distinctive.

Either way, I will be getting them.

On a related note, if you look at this chart, it says the low spec comes without fog lights, but the car in the video has them, so I guess they will be optional even for the low spec (In Japan, that is)
to me it looks like city lights or drls. Too much of that housing is lit up to be the projectors and it almost looks like muliple light sources.

The 18's look like those off the concept (mk2) :thumb up: Interesting to see the white alloys with the polished face.

However, those lights don't look great, especially the yellow tinge.

Is that the edge of a pedestal spoiler, in the second shot down?

This posted in the wrong place. Go back to the original screen shots of the red car.

Nice catch, looks like they just put a spare piece of cardboard in front of the wheel well. Doesn't make much sense since they show off the wheel options in the video too...

An excellent video. I very much appreciate that they actually put effort into the storyline of the commercial. From kids playing with toys to the overlapping of designers sketching, to the engineers discussing ideas, all the ideas coming together to form the lifeblood of the engine, and finally some glimpses of the finished product. It definitely tugs emotional strings.

You can tell they still aren't showing the full monty just yet. That's ok...we all know the unveiling isn't 'til next week. The covered up steering wheel logo, the cg'd out rear quarter, the intentionally blurry and dark front 3/4 shot at the end.

There's one thing that is annoying but fixable; the wheel gap is hideous. Let's hope the production car has a respectable stance out of the box.

Although I certainly do think that there's a lot of production stuff in the video, I also think that they were trying to show the process of selecting and refining the vehicle. I wouldn't be surprised if a few shots in there were just different options that they tried on the way to the production version.

It looks absolutely amazing though. It's Subaru's turn to give us goosebumps now!
