The difference I've felt between CA91 and E85 is dramatic. I'd even go as far to say that if you don't feel much of a difference between the two maybe there was something not right with your setup.

I can concur on this. The car is much more beastly on e85.

I don't use 91. I use 93.
Is there anyone else who has tried the 93 and e85 tunes with the ESC?
I would like to hear your opinions on the subject. I guess my butt dyno isn't as sensitive as others.

I was using CA91+Torco Acellerator boosting me to about 99-101 octane. The torco certainly made the car run smoother and locked in my IAM at 1.0 so I know I was getting max power out of my current setup. Still e85 smashed that on performance.

Hmmm
I guess I'll have to do some empirical testing. Right now I am on 93. I think I'll log some time Vs. speed runs then do the same after switching back to E85. And see what the difference is. One thing that I have noticed is temperature has a large effect on power. And when I was on alcohol it was over 90 degrees everyday. After I changed back to 93 the temperature has been quite a bit cooler.
So, when I do my comparison runs I will also record ambient temp and atmospheric pressure and make sure the conditions are comparable.

Temp plays a huge role

remember I'm still NA, and I only ran 1 tank of 93 after installing my OFH, and flashing my stage 2 tune, before jumping to E85, But by comparing my logs: 3rd gear pull from 2k rpm to ~7200 rpm, I shaved about 2 seconds off of the time on E85, BUT, IAT was ~30 degrees higher on my 93 run. I noticed about a 1.5 second quicker time on E85 vs my 93 stage 1 run with no header, but IAT was only 10 degrees higher for the 93 on that run. I can post my logs, if anyone want's an extra data set to work with.

also did you guys have to sign for your package from Rob? It is supposed to be here sometime this week (I don't know how as it is still showing it being in customs), but I need to figure out if I have to be home to get it or if they will leave it at my door.

And E85 won't turn your heads orange...

I didn't but I was an earlier adopter/ in the first batch. Not sure if it has changed.

Just filled up after my first tank of 100% E85. I dropped from 26 mpg on 93 down to 20 mpg.. and I thought I was being conservative with the throttle. I'll probably be jumping back to 93, but want to hold off until after I test out the Phantom on it. I'm already having trouble starting the car in the morning due to the cold (2 to 3 attempts before It will idle without dying, and I'm in GA). I put 1 gallon of 93 in with this batch of E85, but that is a pain in the @$$ for multiple reasons. Hopefully the ESC will make enough of a difference that I don't really notice.

I've used both 93 and e85. While I can't really remember if I noticed a significant at WOT between the two, it definitely had more power at partial throttle when the ESC isn't activated. Night and day difference. The engine also felt and sounded much smoother on e85.

Got my Phantom in today. It was well packaged and protected. The motor is smaller than I thought it would be, (I hope it will do the job :P). I'll inventory everything when I get off work tonight, but probably won't be able to install until this weekend. The .5 pack wires are a much smaller gauge than I expected so I will not use them for anything. I plan to hook up the system with a single dump pack for the first few weeks to make sure everything is working properly, before I modify/upgrade with any extra batteries. It will have to be slightly different than the normal instillation due to my configuration. I'm looking forward to this weekend and hooking everything up.

Good to hear it arrived.

"I hope it will do the job".....it is the same as all other 50 units before you.
The website has a 2 view ~scale drawing with dimensions.
Gauge is appropriate to its function.

LMK how it goes! *Fresh batteries need a few days of DD cycling to format.
Rob.
