Just when I'm thinking how I might really like the NSX if they made a rwd version, this happens.
WOW.
Makes Ferraris look hopelessly awkward, Lamborghinis look plain, and the NSX look positively boring.
This is the first exotic I truly lust after since the McLaren F1.
Fricking GORGEOUS.

I love how the passenger compartment tapers in the rear and leaves those huge gaps.

Ford says they're taking this thing racing in 2015 which is crazy.

2016 Ford GT press release

Here is a link to the latest information about the upcoming 2016 Ford GT, being released in honor of the 50th anniversary of Ford's 1-2-3 win at Le Mans with the original GT40:

https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...-supercar.html

This paragraph was especially interesting to me:

"The all-new GT features advanced lightweight composites, which will help serve Ford’s entire product lineup moving forward. With the broad application of structural carbon fiber elements, the GT will exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car.
Anchored by a carbon fiber passenger cell, the GT features aluminum front and rear subframes encapsulated in structural carbon fiber body panels. Carbon fiber is one of the world’s strongest materials for its mass – enabling an ultra-stiff foundation for chassis components, while creating a lighter overall package for increased dynamic performance and efficiency."

I haven't see an actual curb weight spec yet for this new car, but if the body is aluminum and carbon fiber composites, then the main source of weight will be the engine and transaxle and ancillary components. This thing ought to go like a bat out of hell and handle itself well to boot. Maybe a Ferrari killer?

Way out of my price ranger, probably forever, but it is fun to dream...

That ecoboost twin turbo v6 pushed a Riley DP car to 222+ at Daytona...I'd take one in a street GT40.

$400k means I'll probably never even see one of these.

But yeah, if I had the means I'd probably pass - V6 no thanks.
