Spring bind - Raceseng CasCam & Ohlins RT
Hi everyone,
Lately I've been experiencing a bit of spring "twang" but only happens at right about full lock (left sounds a bit worse than right); basically turn to full lock, hear a tiny bit of spring bind, unwind about 10 degrees and you get a bit more spring bind release noise. Other than approaching lock and releasing from lock (about 10 degrees of rotation I'd say), no other noises from coils. I'm a bit perplex since the @Raceseng perches come with radial bearings, which usually clear up an issue like this. Getting an alignment on Thursday so will ask my tech to take a look. Would appreciate any thoughts in the meantime. Thanks!

hmm.. i dont know if my issue is spring bind but for sure after installing the plates, at a full lock, i hear a weird creak. both sides. Am I supposed to grease something? OEM springs here.

@mokinbird87 I used to run the plates on stock suspension, didn't have the creak noise
I talked to jarett, he suggested I take a look at the spring perch to check if it seized. Sent from my SGH-I317M using Tapatalk

Check your preload. my coils did the same thing. It created a binding noise of the springs. I adjusted the top collar to tighten the preload and it was good.

@NyC Zn6 will do, I recall ohlins wants 2mm preloaded, my alignment guy (super knowledgeable and races) suggested just snug. Hopefully it's as simple as this...
