Engine version 2.0 has a Full Blown built short block (10:1), Full Blown stage 2 heads, Jackson Racking SC, and a Rev Works header.

Power feels much better but I'm still having issues with cooling on the track despite having a Koyo radiator, JR oil cooler, ceramic coating my header and over pipe, and adding a vented hood. Upgrading the fan shroud next.

Here's the power with 93 octane and VP MS 109 via a conservative track tune from JRTuned:

@romin great data. We suggest you look into getting SPAL fans, relays, and getting that fan shroud done. *Shameless plug* We stock piled SPAL fans and relays for this reason.**

Keep in mind, there is a ton of restriction with all those cores in the front of the car. The fans help pull the air through those fins and aid in cooling.

Also, we have found with a good tune and 100 octane, temperatures droped across the board despite running additional power. E85 will see additional benefits, but we proved that 100 octane alone is good enough.

You need fans, not a radiator. Put on some SPALs. PM me if you want a pair plus wiring (relays).

The downside to the 25 row is that it cools too well for the steet, especially in the winter. I have to block flow to it on the street to get oil to go above 160 F. It is worth it for me though as I have peace of mind at the track (I am there a lot). Stock radiator btw. Mike actually believes the stock radiator is more efficient at shedding heat than the Koyo.

Turbo'd at 280-300 whp.
@romin
Is that with a thermostatic adapter?

Probably a problem with the dynos sensor.

Ya I have heard nothing but bad stuff about prime and Junior. I would honestly look elsewhere for a tune. PM me if you want my recommendations.

Mike and David, what issue were you trying to solve with the relay kit?

I've ordered a shroud from Carolina Dyno with two Spal VA10-AP70/LL-61S fans. I believe their kit plugs directly into the OEM harness.

High powered fans draw more power, and need their own relay; the stock relay is only utilized as an on-off switch.

If a fan draws about the same power as stock, it probably doesn't flow much more than stock.

Even medium sized SPAL fans will blow the stock fuse.

To the OP, my oil/water/egt temps dropped down quite a bit once tune was fixed...you're in TX so you may need more cooling...in North East summer on track, temps looked good...JRSC, JR oil cooler, Koyo, stock hood, euro castrol edge 0w30 (switching to Motul 300V 5w30 this season)

Was there an indicator of the tune issues in your log files?
Short of the AFR being lean under load I don't know what would point to a heat issue.

Yes, explained in the thread I shared yesterday, by an Ecutek master tuner

@CSG... what's your current full header back exhaust setup? Anything stock still? Stock catback?
