I have been considering buying a BRZ and going the FI route. I have two questions if you have a moment:

I heard the warranty is voided with the turbo/sc, do you know if that it true?
I see you mention that half of the used price of the parts you used are over $8k. Even buying used parts to do a clean build like yours will cost $16k?

That's kind of a grey area, it varies from dealership to dealership what they say but obviously if you blow the engine they'll blame it on that. Basically there's a rule somewhere that says they have to have proof that the aftermarket item caused whatever failure you're in for. But if you return it to stock it'll be back to normal. So it all depends really.

Believe it or not yeah. And that's not even including labor excep tuning. You'd be astonished how fast prices add up. I planned to spend 12k and now have about 16.5 into it (have a spreadsheet with all my costs, but I try not to look at it to keep my wallet from crying ).
