Solutions for rubbing/melting issues on 2017+ rear bumper

I've been looking at some of the larger/goofier exhausts available and would really like to run the Greddy Revolution RS, but I have concerns about clearance with the high angle and large exit. I've been told the older version will almost definitely rub and melt part of the bumper, but I'm not sure if the fitment has been tweaked on the 2017+ version (right side exit) to address this.

I obviously found the Verus carbon cutout covers immediately, which should be a perfect solution, but they don't seem to properly fit the 2017+ bumper on the 86.

Are there any other options for simple heat shielding? Any sort of adhesive that could cover the cutout without looking terrible? As much as I want this exhaust, I'm not ready to commit to something I can't undo.

From my experience with my Revo RS, it did indeed melt my '17 bumper. I rushed the install out of excitement and it melted a corner of my exhaust hole. I got the Velox carbon cover for the cutout and it has since been able to hold the heat and covered the melted portion. My next plan of action is to try the Kartboy 12mm exhaust hangers to drop it a little for some extra clearance.

Edit: I missed that you have an 86, but I would reckon it'll affect you just the same.

I was considering the exhaust hangers as well, but a local friend told me he ran into a lot of ground clearance issues under the dif with that exhaust and a very mild drop. I really wish I could just use the carbon cover, they still fit the updated BRZ, but the 17+ 86 added a little lip across the bottom of the bumper that messes up the fitment.

I bought some fiberglass-backed aluminum tape. I haven't had direct contact on the bumper yet, but fiberglass should be able to protect and insulate the bumper while the aluminum pulls the heat away.

I used 3M 363. It's expensive, but it's probably the best you can buy and it can certainly handle the application (rated -60 to 600 deg F).

There are also plenty of generic sheets of the stuff on Amazon sold as "fiber aluminum heat/exhaust shield/tape." You only need about 1 sq-ft for both sides.

You can see how I applied it on my Instagram from a recent post (link in my signature)

I have the Greddy RS Race (basically the RS Revolution without a resonator), but the 2017+ passenger side exit.

Knock on wood, i've had no clearance issues anywhere, and it sits nice and centered in the exhaust hole. I do worry about melting but I might address this upcoming summer. Last summer in the hottest of temps and hard runs I had no problems.

I'll probably look at something like this: https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/lava-shield

and just cut and wrap it carefully to make it look semi decent. Not many options otherwise for kouki 86 owners at the moment.
