Ah yeah. Those are actually powered by an independent switch (which I assume most people would just leave on anyway haha)

The switch powers the vertical led bar. They sell the same type of kit pretty much for all their models now and they're all wired to this same type of switch separately (I've installed one on both a WRX and a forester).

You'd think they would wire it to the normal DRL's for daytime running tho... odd, but cool! Saves having to do an "always on" module or something.

I don't think DRL is a requirement in Japan (I could be wrong), which is why its set up that way

Finished my bumper garnish! Thanks again to @Trap63 for doing the initial dirty work. You can see a full step-by-step and additional pictures in my build thread for those interested.

I've noticed a cost cutting trend with the STI bears, they are getting more fit and slim with each iteration lol!

no, this is the Japan genuine aftermarket solution Kit. I know well as I changed my left DRL and the Japan cost per couple is lower than european single DRL.
Japan DRLs are lower as lumen and harness is quite different from us. I needed to soldering old harness for fitting.

Hi Thomas I suppose that new one needs to buy inside fender cover and lower frame. After Sept 16th we will know as sales start in USA.

Has anyone considered a 5x100 to 5x114 conversion to WRX STI wheels to run a (245/35/18) setup? The 18" WRX 15 spoke wheels are commercially available through Subaru parts stores in the states and at a fair price.

With the addition of my Harrop Supercharger I feel that my existing JDM 225/40/18 may not cut it in terms of traction. Anyone have thoughts?
