Hey @GeeTee86, would I be correct if I said you had octane booster in at the time of that run?
As I recall, you did 142whp (9whp less) on straight 95 octane fuel against Bumble Bee?

Cool, sorry I meant the 20% was the assumption - they're assuming that % drivetrain losses to get FWH which then gives a more "impressive" number, hence the reason we normally use WHP here in GP.

As for the confusion, my understanding was that the run was done at the Thursday dyno night which is not private at all and everybody got WHP printout. You have to specifically tick the box to get a FHP readout which is normally against FR's policy. Very strange.

It was very hot the evening of the Bumble Bee dyno night. The Run deef posted was pretty much exactly the same as last Thursday when the BRZ ran. Without octane booster.

So this means that un-tuned on 95 posted a stronger time than this tune and looking at the graphs they look nearly identical. Torque dip is still very much there.

It would be interesting to see the "more aggressive" tune on that dyno. You're just going to have to wait for a rainy evening again else it'll probably push less HP.

Yep, we were confused at first too as they first said it was WHP, as like you said, that's what they dyno in normally, but Shiraaz (012 665 3222) then confirmed that he mistakenly printed the FHP graph.

Nothing to be confused about anymore, I can confirm again that it made 148.2WHP and 160WNM.

Thanks to "ambient correction" we wont have too much worry about outside temperatures, such as comparing @GeeTee86 's winter 151HP run to the Phoenix tuned 95 octane 148WHP summer run. From what I have heard, FR&R is a pretty reliable dyno so I assume their ambient correction targets are pretty accurate. It seems to be this way, when having a look at the change in correction factors between a few winter VS summer graphs...

@GeeTee86, can you confirm that you had no octane booster in the tank on the run where you made 151WHP?

Pretty sure no booster because my stock car made the same that day.

Back to the drawing board I guess, good luck. Really hoping you guys can come up with a good local tune that works.

Cool lets wait for @GeeTee86 to confirm.
Sho if he was on 95 tho, that would be odd...I'm certain FR&R is more consistent with regards to figures, maybe next time the BRZ goes back it will have an alomst 10WHP jump in power too...that should make it almost 160WHP already...SWEEET!

Haha no going "back to the drawing board", we have plenty happy tuned cars, just like @ShaunWRX (BTW sorry about the hijack Shaun )

The placebo effect is an amazing thing, no use blaming the dyno.

Like I've said, good luck and I really do hope you come up with something that actually works.

Half a tin of liqui moly booster. Wonder if it even raises it with 1 bases point as I dont see much of an improvement in timing.
As for ambient correction. The operator enters temp, barometric pressure and humidity that he gets from a weather station. The dyno software then calculates the correction according to a formula. So its not something that is sucked out of the air.

I'm sad that I'm too dumb to understand all this "mine's bigger than yours" stuff.
I must have been at the back of the queue when measuring tapes were handed out.

What's a dinnermometer?

A switch on your scale that changes Pounds to Kg's to make you look thinner on paper .

Quite proud to say I've never used OB on the dyno. Wonder what difference it could make to the pissing contest?
