List (you contribute) Phone Bluetooth Compatibility BRZ stock headunit

I had this idea so that 1) we could figure out what firmware/phones have in common that work with the stock headunit 2) People can see what version of phone software they may be able to switch to to get things working.

This is mostly to support the USDM community, but feel free to post other stuff. I know the Canadians are also having some issues.

Format I suggest (copy paste for ease):

BRZ year:
Headunit Firmware:
Phone (include carrier):
Android version:
Stock ROM/modded ROM:
Bluetooth phone functionality:
Bluetooth audio functionality:

I'll start

BRZ year: 2013
Headunit Firmware: 15:50/30.07 9.2.2.250040
Phone (include carrier): Motorola Atrix HD ATT (MB886)
Android version: 4.3.1
Stock ROM/modded ROM: CyanogenMod 10.2
Bluetooth phone functionality: Haven't fully tested with this version of Cyanogen
Bluetooth audio functionality: Full -> titles show for all audio sources (google play, pandora, etc.), controls work, etc.

Other notes:
-CM version 10.1 didn't show titles with bluetooth audio.
-Holoblur (android 4.1.2) ROM had an issue where it would disconnect and reconnect constantly.

Does 4.4 on the Nexus 4 finally provide MAP functionality so that the headunit can display incoming text messages? Also, does bluetooth streaming now properly display artist/title?

I had the Nexus 4 before the kit kat update and it didn't do either of those, I switched to a Nexus 5 that came with the update and everything works as expected. I'm just curious if it was the kit kat update that finally addressed it or if the Nexus 5 had additional changes that made it work.

That's weird. My Nexus 4 was working perfectly fine even before KitKat update. Never had TXT function though. I am not even sure if our headunit supports that.

since upgrading to Kitkat 4.4, my Nexus 4 started to display text messages in the headunit. It doesn't work too well though. It was playing back many old texts the first time. Hopefully it will work better in the future.

Streaming title/artist wasn't working for me on my Nexus 4, definitely works on my Nexus 5 though. Same thing for text messages.

Works flawlessly with my Nexus 5, stock ROM. Thanks for confirming that Kit Kat updated it though - what about music streaming over BT, does it show artist/song title now?

BRZ year: 2014
Headunit Firmware: Whatever it came with
Phone (include carrier): Samsung Galaxy S3 / Verizon
Android version: 4.1.2
Stock ROM/modded ROM: Bone stock (no root)
Bluetooth phone functionality: Full
Bluetooth audio functionality: Mostly full. When I'm showing other apps (like waze), play/pause over BT does not work, though next/previous do. That's the only restriction. Otherwise full functionality

It just worked with the Nexus 5 as soon as I paired it. Maybe you should unpair/repair the Nexus 4 now that it has Kit Kat.

Thumbs down

BRZ year: 2014
Headunit Firmware: Whatever it came with
Phone (include carrier): SGS4 / Sprint
Android version: JellyBean
Stock ROM/modded ROM: Bone stock (no root)
Bluetooth phone functionality: Cuts in and out; can't load text messages.
Bluetooth audio functionality: Cuts in and out running Spotify; does not display track information. Disconnects frequently for no reason. BT completely disconnected from BRZ and then reconnects a minute later. No Rhyme or Reason. Annoying.
