I'm using a g29 and paddle shifting.

Anyone else notice this or know why they made the game act this way?

Torque dip.

I finished my setup right in time for the game! Picked up an old WRX seat and followed Simul8r MK ii plans (just google) for the rig and was pretty easy for the most part.

Noted, I'll check it out. I get like 1-3 requests a day from COD players, so I rarely look at them.

I am 'old' and loved GT1 when it came out, because it was so realistic back then. Now the new GTS has got me wondering if I should go back to virtual racing. My questions is...I have been out of the market so long, what would you advise for a basic set-up and how much would it cost? Think steering wheel, pedals (no chair), PS4 and game. The steering wheel and pedals would have to be decent, but not obscenely expensive as some set-ups are. It's ok, I already have a helmet. Cheers!

Steering wheel, pedals, and shifter can be found at Best Buy on sale right now for the Logitech G29. It's either that or the Thrustmaster 300 (?). They are both comparable as far as all of the online reviews I have seen, and both set-ups can be seen as "entry level to ameature or better". Set aside $350+/- for this.

Games ... do your homework, really. Say $60 a game though for starters, and if you don't have the online gaming that'll run you some annual (or monthly?) fee. You need that for most games nowadays.

PS4 - Might as well wait until the holiday season to scoop up some bundle, but I think they run roughly $300ish? I don't know ... had mine for years now.

Wheel pedal set= $300 (g29)

PS4= $300

Game= $60

PS plus to play online = $50 (needed for GTsport for the most part

So basic set up costs for everything is= $710 + tax so more like $730

If you want to step that up and get the VR head set which would be extra cool tack another $300 on for VR.

Also if you want to go the VR route which is probably the absolute best way you likely want to get the ps4 pro over the standard ps4 which is $400. An additional $100 over the standard ps4.

Nah, get DIRT 4 or something and let her slide the car around the parking lot. Women love that stuff ... my wife came home all "wtf is this" until she sat down and did donuts. Then all was restored in the world
