A shop named DBW Motorsports in Atlanta. They do the best work period. Over the past 3 years he has tuned dozens of n/a and turbo 86s and guess what? Nobody has a blown engine and his install is pretty much perfect. I notice a lot of SBD owners have problems from installing the kit themselves yet the most reliable ones in Georgia is tuned by DBW. The thing I love about SBD and DBW is that they will usually let you know if they are out of state on their FB page or when you call them and I always get a response in 24 hours. Communication and service is key to me.

And its not about repeating what the company said, but admitting your mistake and owing upto it. This thread would have been closed already if you would have just said how Gruppe guys owned upto there mistake and you appreciate them fixing there mistake.

See that's where me and you disagree. I didn't make a mistake! I told the truth that they didn't answer my call but later found out they were out of state on vacation. If they had left a message on their answering machine this would've never happen. Please process that will you? Geez

You started with truth but you didn't complete the story as to what happened afterwards. Did you appreciate Gruppe fixing the issue or should they have just left with you the stuff that you received by mistake. Gruppe guys owned up and admitted there mistake. The least you could do is appreciate that. How about you process that before you keep make a fool of yourself....Geez

All that tells me is that either:

- None of their customers are actually driving their cars
- They're lying
- They're detuning the cars like crazy to prevent issues.

Nobody is perfect, and the limitations of this engine are pretty well documented. The statement is bold is impossible.

SBD instead of Greddy? Are you ready to have the same problem you just admitted to above?

I understand how some of you feel about SBD but let me tell you something, Mike I used to feel the way about SBD as you do, which is very skeptical but I joined the site like 2.5 years ago and I am in a club of 86 cars in Atlanta where plenty of the guys own SBD kits tuned and installed by DBW. I waited patiently for 2 years to see if any of the guys kits would fail and cause engine failure but none of the guys who had it done professionally had a failure yet. Hell some of the guys track at Road Atlanta and AMP with SBD kits and oil coolers with 0 issues when installed right. You can install any kit out there in your garage and throw a rod. I have watched countless people do this and Chis @ SBD steps in to fix the mess they most likely caused by improper install. Chris is a stand up guy that goes above and beyond for the community so he is no where near like these other guys that's hard to depend on or get a hold of. My best friend is also rocking the kit installed by DBW for months now with no oil leaks, no boost leak, no parts burning the fan shroud. He is also rocking the latest kit which has gotten better since V1/V2.

After 10 pages of things to talk about, here's the summary:
  • OP could not get a hold of the vendor, panicked, jumped the gun, made a big deal out of seemingly nothing, is getting a refund, and the vendor apologized to him for the mistake.
  • The vendor shipped the wrong product because the label was applied to the wrong package, went on vacation, did not leave out of office/vacation notice on a non-public normal work day, and rectified the situation with the buyer without apologizing for the lack of communication (about them being out of office).

Did I cover everything?

You pretty much get it.
I just read the entire thread, and I had to laugh every time I saw Gruppe-S had thanked someones post. Clearly the vendor was aware of the issue and the issue was resolved.

If I needed to order anything right now I think I would from Gruppe-S. The OP was trying to slam a vendor and it had the opposite effect, it was a great advertisement for Gruppe-S

Just remember that they may or may not take random vacations without notice.
