The schematics looked like the same module does the radio for the TPMS and remote door locks. It also looked like it plugged directly into the CAN bus.

I was hoping there would be a separate module that talked to the instrument cluster directly.

The TPMS are made by Pacific and are the same as the 2012 Camry. I'm sitting in a meeting talking about them right now. I work for a TPMS manufacturer

Well tell them I will pay good money for a module that let's me switch wheels without having to hit up the dealer. Whether that's sensors that clone the IDs of my existing sensors, or a box I use via obd port to program, don't care.

Cloneable sensors already exist, Orange TPMS makes them but you need a special tool to program the sensors. Also the ATEQ quickset is a good affordable option for programming via OBDII. It gets a lot of complaints but I've had mine for a couple years and think it works great.

It's very possible to do, but I wouldn't expect to see any commercial products out there since it would be against the law in many states to use.

Let's just say I'm working on/with both of those companies on some awesome projects right now.

I think a lot of dealers charge minimum 1 hour labor for most non oil change type jobs. It was annoying trying to get a quote from dealer for caliper replacement on another vehicle. They refuse to give a quote without inspecting and they charge 1 hour for inspecting which is "free if you get service from us"...

Trying to work on a $100 tool that can do the relearn for you. It will pay for itself compared to one relearn at the dealer.

The ATEQ quickset at $150 already exists. Given how much sensors themselves cost I don't think anyone's going to come out with a tool for less then that.

Another possible option for the BRZ/FRS is the Toyota Techstream software. It's officially something like $1500 but you can get it with the cable (probably not an official copy) off eBay for about $40. I acutally ordered one because I wanted to check out some of the other functions. When it gets here I'll be reporting back to let people know if allows reprogramming of the TPMS sensors.

Someone selling Techstream software on eBay?!
All I see is $40 OBDII cables that support the protocol Techstream uses. Are they throwing in software unofficially or smth?

Techstream w OBDII interface that supports "J2534 passthrough" can access/program TPMS IDs.

Yep tones of them just search "Techstream" and you'll see lots of them with cable and software. Mine should get here sometime next week, I'll let you know once I' get it and have a chance to check it out.

There are tons of listings with 'techstream' search, none of them seem to promise software, just compatibility.
No reason to let me know, I'm not averse to software off the torrents, so I tested it already.
But by all means post how that adapter works.

I'm not sure why your're not finding them.

Here is one from the same seller I got mine from.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Newest-...#ht_4784wt_984

Turns out mine showed up today I just hadn't checked the mail. Obviously not an approved copy so I'll just say use your own judgement there. It does allow you to use an evaluation mode which limits the number of times you can connect. If you are going to use it read all the documentation on the CD so you understand the workaround before installing. I haven't tested it on the car yet but I'll play around with it some tomorrow.
