Unless you're a JDM-hype, hard-parking stance boi, dampers are only as good as the ability to have them valved for a specific application, the serviceability, and their quality (depending on fitness for use) - regardless of where they come from.

Travel more, please.
You forgot Sachs.
Yes I have an indirect but still vested interest in making sure they were on the list.

So are the Dutch. Possibly even cheaper than the Scots.

I'm glad to see page 3 and 4, because page 1 of this thread was just sad. I'm an American, I'm in Texas (not in SoCal), and I have a combination of aftermarket components on my car that were manufactured, assembled, or sourced from all over the world. Nothing was "cheaped out" on, but in each case was chosen for function first, accessibility of support second, and price last (within reason). Some of the parts I purchased were manufactured in Taiwan, most were not, many of them were made right here in the US.

There are so many legitimately good coilover options in the market for this platform, that I truly don't understand why people buy bad coilovers or why they focus on the wrong things when making their purchase decisions. But it's your car and your money, so do whatever you want.

FWIW, not a single brand I assessed for coilovers was a "Japanese" brand. They were all from Europe, North America, and Australia. There's lots of components I'd want to buy from a Japanese brand for this platform, but not really coilovers. MCA in Australia; Ohlins, Bilstein, Motons, JRZ, and KW in Germany; and Penske, RCE, MCS, and Multimatic in North America are far superior options to almost anything I've seen come from Japan. Mid-Level Teins or Cusco coilovers are probably a great choice for a lot of people, but don't really enter the realm of serious suspension, and while Tein SRCs are actually quite good, for the money there are better options made elsewhere (at least better options for me and my driving goals).

Tk Rocket: don't get too upset, but you genuinely comes across as a seriously arrogant kid with little to no knowledge and experience. I'm a noob as well actually, but, damn, judging a brand and their product based on their geographic location is so asinine.

You truly are the definition of total JDM brainwashed fanboy.

Fortune Auto coilovers, in my opinion, offer some of the best support and product warranty in the business.

Their coilovers come with five-year warranty and at least you know their offices are local in North America (VA and Montreal, Canada) so you have some assurance of decent customer service.

I was looking into the Fortune Auto 510 coilovers and let me say it sounds like a pretty competitive option and the flexibility of this unit (swap out springs, send back for revalving, option to purchase with Swift springs, etc) seems unmatched. Their support and backing in terms of warranty and ease of reach is just a fantastic bonus.

Very sad and ignorant way of thinking you have, sir.

And finally, for it's worth, I would rather buy locally and support our local jobs rather than nut off to some far off, distant JDM fantasy.

You really REALLY need to get out of the 20 mile or so radius you think reflects the world and the USA.
It's even funnier if you've been to any of these USA headquarters. Many them are like 3 guys in a small commercial unit who mostly just do shipping/receiving.

Since he's from socal, here's some videos from Fitment Industries he might be able to actually understand.
