My bad. I forgot that financial sense and car modding are decoupled. More power to you then lad!

damn straight they are, it's a hobby. grown men spend thousands of dollars on matchbox cars if that's what they're into. otherwise we'd all be driving corollas. but seriously though you can build a built-motor turbo 86 for less than a decent new corvette (~$60k), and it'll be far more badass when it's all said and done. they only make ~400whp. my car makes more than that, weighs considerably less and i still got $20k+ left over to play with.

but it's just a personality thing. some people just like driving cars and it's not really a hobby to them, that's fine. it's definitely not cheaper in the end, though, in terms of performance/$.

I'm a lifer. Been flying RC planes for over 35 years. I race offroad model cars too. In 05 I was ranked 20th in the USA in Pro Nitro Truggy. California Champion 3 years ago in large scale offroad (1/4 scale gas powered 40 pound cars), and my friends an I hold the world speed record for ALL model aircraft, with GLIDERS! Dynamic Soaring, I went 300mph when the record was 308, now it stands at 499mph!

Here's a slow vid. The ones over 400-450 you literally can't see the planes they're going so fast. Crank up the SOUND!!!

Here's a great vid showing DS and DS acro.

I used to do the large scale stuff too... built many a pimped out Baja back when they first came out, lots of FGs in the past. Those things are fun. I'm not particularly good at driving them though, just like the full-scale ones .

i had no idea one could make a glider go 499mph. that's insane.

another little known fact: rev works is next door to BVM jets. it's a block full of awesome.

Their kits for other cars are 4-5K and do not include cams. I would expect to see a 7K price tag on this.
